I could feel my heart beating in my throat as the car approached the venue. We found a parking spot rather quickly and easily which surprised me because the line to the venue when around the block. Once Shannon threw the car into park we both quickly jumped out of the car and headed straight for the main doors bypassing the line. Shannon used to work the lights here regularly a few years ago, and every once in awhile they call her and ask her to help out with the lighting for shows. We reached the doors and the bouncer let us in, no questions asked.
We got the same treatment every time we came to the R&R to see a show. I've gotten to meet so many bands, and I had even gotten to be on first name basis with the owners so that even if Shan wasn't with me, I still manage to get right into the venue. Anyway, mindlessly I followed Shannon until I shook myself from my thoughts long enough to look around and notice where we were headed.
"No, no, no, no, no!" I shouted shaking my head and attempting to mentally glue my feet to the floor.
"Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!" She replied as she turned around and looked at me. "Don't you want answers?" She asked me, disbelief in her voice.
"Yes...but..."
"But what? But what Eva? Do not back down on me now." She said sternly as she walked towards me, her hand sliding upon my wrist and now dragging me behind her and towards the door to the dressing room.
"But Shannon, don't you think we should wait?" She stopped and turned to me. "At least until the end of the show?" I stammered out, hoping she'd reconsider. "I just don't want us throwing off their moods and then they throw on a shitty show for their fans. That's all. I know they all paid good money to be here." She looked at me, taking into consideration what I had just said. "Just till after the show. Then I promise we can barge back here, kick in the door and you can do Ry's nuts in."
"Okay, after the show," She said sighing in defeat. "But I am kicking them really, really hard." She said the last part as she clenched her fists and jaw. She then turned on her heals and headed towards the stage.
I was quickly on her heels once more, with my eyes on the floor the whole time. Minuets later we approached the stage and I followed Shan to a door that led to the stairway that led to the lighting room. Once we entered the room we were greeted by a few familiar faces.
"Hi Kevin," I said with a smile and a wave as I proceeded to take my usual seat in the far right hand corner.
"Eva, Shannon," He said with a nod, all while never lifting his eyes from his control board. "What brings you two to the Rockit Room tonight?" He asked while he was finishing up the light display on his lap top.
"A few old scores to settle with a few old friends," Shannon spoke as she walked towards the window and looked down upon the main room that was beginning to fill with eager fans. "Look them all, look at the excitement plastered upon their faces. All that, and for them." She spoke, and venom filled her words.
"Shannon, calm down. They don't know them like we do. To them they're just their rock gods."
"And they shouldn't be," She spit, turning from the window to look at me. "After all that they have done to us, after all their little charade has put us through...This is just unbelievable." She said as she threw her arms over her head as she let herself fall into the nearest chair. "Kevin can you make sure the light shines in the moronic blonde one's eyes all night?" She asked putting on her puppy dog face that made me giggle.
Kevin looked up from the screen and up at Shan's face. "Why Miss Shannon I have never seen you show so much hatred for someone in my life. And the light treatment... Ex-boyfriend?"
"You got it dude." She said as she sighed.
I sighed to myself and positioned my body so that I could see out the window. Five figures started to move upon the stage and soon the music started to play. "It sounds better than that shitty demo now, doesn't it?" I heard Shannon ask, and all I did was shake my head yes. My eyes were transfixed on Jay; as he bounced around the stage letting the music pour from his very soul...
Jay's Point of Veiw...
The bus was silent as we pulled into San Francisco. It was the band's first time here, though I couldn't help but get the feeling that I had been here before. We drove through the windy streets and the deeper we got into the city I got the strange feeling that I was home. I shook myself from thoughts and looked around the bus at my other band mates, Ryan and Paige looked like they were deep in their own thoughts as well.
I glanced back down at my notebook and quickly jotted down the last few words and the lyrics were completed. It was a song that I had written about a girl I had dreamed about a few nights ago, and the night before that and the night before that. It was a reoccurring dream that I had been having for the past four or five years. And last night was the first night I had had it in a few months. It was a sign, I had to write something about it, and the song had to be preformed here in San Francisco tonight. I looked up from my notebook and cleared my throat. All four band member's heads' turned and looked up at me waiting for me to speak.
"I just finished these lyrics. I want to put music to it and perform it tonight." I simply stated.
"Dude, you do know that's like close to impossible," Ryan stated staring at me in shock.
"Actually it can be done Ryan," Paige said, speaking up on my behalf.
"I have a melody, here. I'll sing it for you..." And with that I started to sing as Ryan and Amir rushed to get their guitars, Paige his bass, and Bobby his computer...
Back to the girls...
As he sang I rummaged through my pockets and pulled out the picture of Jay and I. I flipped it over and read what he had written in black marker. Eva & Jay, BFFE+. I laughed to myself remember the exact face he made when he wrote that. He was trying to be funny and it worked. I sighed to myself and traced the lettering with my finger. I was on the y when suddenly the picture was taken from me.
"You still have this?" Shannon spoke, stunned.
"Yes I do! Now give it back, please?" I said, tears forming in my eyes.
"Make me!"
"Give it back right now Shannon Krystal!"
"Make me Eva Riley!"
"Kevin, make her give it back!" I asked turning to Kevin and giving him the puppy eyes.
"Oh don't bring me into this," He said putting his arms up and declaring his neutrality. "Hey Shan let me she that though." Shannon handed him the photo and looked at it. "Isn't that the guy on stage?"
"Yes," Shan and I said at the same time.
"Why did you bring that with you anyway?" She asked me, taking the picture back from Kevin and handing it back to me.
"Because," I said looking back down at it. "I thought maybe if he didn't remember, I could show him this, and then maybe he would." I felt Shannon gently place her hand on my back.
"He'd be crazy not to remember you."
"I hope your right," I said as I continued to look out the window.
"How is everyone doing tonight?" Jay spoke and the crowd when wild. "I'm going to do something a little different tonight. We're going to do a new song for you guys tonight. We just wrote this on the bus on the way here, so cut us some slack okay?"
"Oh this should be interesting," Shan said as he slouched back and rolled her eyes.
"Oh shut up, I want to hear," I said turning from her back to the window. The music started up and Jay started to sing...
"You know I've started to grow since you've been away
Lately it's scarier not knowing what's become of you
Oh you're proud of me now, I can tell
I'm not as fearless as you
Still I pretend that you're still standing by
To show me wrong from right
Never got a chance to say goodbye
Take this gift from me
Hold it deep in mind forever
And never let this go
Take this gift from me
Hold it deep in mind forever
And never let this go...
I used to think you were crazy
When you were hooked to the screen
But now they tell me that you're in a better place
But where did you go? (But where did you go?)
And I swear sometimes you're watching over me
Still I'd give the world for the chance
Just to see your face again
Still I pretend that you're still standing by
To show me wrong from right
Never got a chance to say goodbye
Take this gift from me
Hold it deep in mind forever
And never let this go
Take this gift from me
Hold it deep in mind forever
And never let this go
Now there's nothing left but time
Now that I'm following you
Eva's always on my mind
And it makes me wonder (Makes me wonder)
What happened to you?
You know it makes me wonder
Still I pretend that you're still standing by
To tell me wrong from right
Never got a chance to say goodbye
Take this gift from me
Hold it deep in mind forever
And never let this go away..."
The music kicked out and the fans went wild. And I just stood there mixed emotions with mixed emotions...
Rest of the story in the results...

The concert was over and I was running to catch up with Shannon who was walking as fast as she could to the dressing room fists clenched and eyes like fire. When she got to the door she didn't bother to knock, she instead let it simply fly open. Scanning the room she found who she was looking for and ran right up to him fury in her eyes. I just slipped in and leaned against the wall simply watching the whole affair.
"Ryan Shuck how dare you!" She screamed getting in his face.
"How dare I what?" He said in regular I'm Ryan and I'm simply amazing voice.
"Oh don't even play games with me Ryan. You know damn well what I'm talking about!"
"No honestly I don't. I don't even know who you are." He said now looking at her rather suspiciously.
"No? You don't know! How can you not?"
"Honnestly lady, I don't know what you're talking about."
"And I have a name Ryan, and you can try using it. You know it's not like we didn't date for five fucking years!" She screamed at him.
"What?" He said suddenly taken aback. I didn't understand it just as much as Shannon didn't understand it. How come Ryan was pretending not to know her?
"Oh really, and I'm going to suppose you don't know anything about faking your own death either? Cause honestly Ryan I am done playing games with you! All I want to know is why you did it? Why did you pretend to fucking die, and leave me here! Leave me here a fucking alone! You're such a fucking asshole you know that? Was it because I was pregnant? Was it? If you didn't want to be part of our baby's life you could have just told me, and I wouldn't have said anything. I could have taken care of him all by myself like I've been doing. But no you went and faked your own death. And now you're standing here, pretending that you don't know me or anything of this shit. That's fucking low Ryan! How much lower are you going to seep huh?" She shouted, she was clenching her fists so tight that I could see blood starting to trickle down her arms.
"Whoa what's going on here?" Jay asked as he came into the room as his eyes darted back and forth from Shannon to Ryan.
"Alright Jay, since this fucking drunken idiot wont tell me, why don't you, or Paige, why don't you tell me. Huh?" She said looking at Jay and eying down Paige who was hiding behind him.
"Do I know you?" Jay asked looking at Shannon like he's seen her before but he didn't know from where. And then it hit me.
"He doesn't know either Shan," I said stepping out of the shadows and towards the light. "Neither does Paige. They don't remember any of it." I said staring at Jay. "You don't remember, do you?" I could feel the tears forming in my eyes as I spoke. There he was right in front of me. The man who I loved with everything I am, and he didn't remember me, he didn't remember Shannon. He didn't remember anything of our childhood. He just didnt' remember. "Here," I said as I took the picture of us out of my pocket. "Maybe this will help you to remember." I handed him the picture backside front, and turned to Shannon. "Come on let's go." And I grabbed her arm and we headed for the door closing it behind us.
"The accident," I said trying to make sense of all of this.
"Amnesia," Shannon stated simply. I just nodded and wiped my tears away. "Fuck," I heard here mutter. "My fucking hands. That asshole has not fucking changed one fucking bit. Motherfucker." She growled in frustration and then looked up at me with sorrow and pain in her eyes. "Come on, I have to go pick up Danny from my mom's." I just simply nodded and followed her out to car, with the recent events playing over and over in my mind...
Jay's Point of View
We had just finished playing our first ever show in San Francisco. But I still couldn't shake the feeling that we had played here before. I trailed behind the others but as I approached the dressing room the faint sound of screaming could be heard, and it just only greatened as I opened the door. Once inside I could see a pretty little red head yelling at Ryan.
How much lower are you going to seep huh?" She shouted at him. It was then that I decided to step in.
"Whoa, what's going on here?" I asked my eyes going back and forth from the both of them.
"Alright Jay, since this fucking drunken idiot wont tell me, why don't you, or Paige, why don't you tell me. Huh?" She said looking at me and Paige who I was guessing to be hiding behind me.
"Do I know you?" I asked looking at girl. I swear that we had met before. And then I heard it. A familiar voice, the voice that haunts my dreams, and then there she was, out of the shadows. The woman who haunts my dreams.
"He doesn't know either Shan," she spoke as she stepped out of the shadows and towards the light. "Neither does Paige. They don't remember any of it." she said here eyes landing on me. "You don't remember, do you?" I could see the tears forming in her eyes as she spoke. And I had the sudden urge to hold her to comfort her. To tell her that I love her, that everything that's going to be okay. But I couldn't, no matter how hard I tried, I was frozen. "Here," She said as she fumbled in her pockets and pulled out what seemed to be a photograph of some sort. "Maybe this will help you to remember." She said as she handed it to me, she then turned to the other girl. "Come on let's go." And she grabbed her arm and exited the room closing the door behind them. And I stood there just staring at the door after her.
"God Ryan you have to stop fucking random girls when your drunk," Bobby chimed in laughing and turning back to his bag and grabbing clean clothes before heading to the shower.
"Shannon," He mumbled to himself, but he just shook his head and tried to push whatever thoughts he had out of his mind.
I took the time then to look down at what I held in my hand. It was the back of the photograph and in a handwriting I recognized as my own was written Eva & Jay, BFFE+. I then turned the photo over and looked down at it. There we were; the beautiful girl from before, the girl in my dreams and myself. I was smiling up at the camera and she was just staring up at me smiling.
"She loves you," Paige said as he patted me in the back.
I just sat there staring at the picture for hours before Amir came up and told me that we had to go. I just nodded and slipped the picture into my jacket pocket and grabbed my bags before heading out of the room with the rest of the band.
I still couldn't shake the feeling that we had been here before, that we had played here before. As we walked I looked at the wall next me. It was filled with pictures of bands, famous and non famous alike with the owner of the club. And then I saw it. The picture. There we were; Ryan, Paige, Amir, Bobby, Myself Eva and Shannon. There we all were goofing off and all of us had a hand on the owner. I just stood there and stared.
"Dude, what's up?" Ryan asked me as he walked up behind me to see what it was that I was looking at. "What the hell..."
"Dude is that us?" Paige asked as he joined my other side. "Amir, Bobby, come here!"
And soon all of us were standing around the picture and we all had the same expression on our face.
"Come on boys, we have cities to play," our manager stated as he saw we were all stopped. "What are you all looking at...Ohh. Um yea, come on guys." He said as he tried to push us all away from the photograph.
"You have a lot of explaining to do," I said as I picked him up and pinned him against the wall.
"Okay, okay. I'll talk..."
Thank you for reading part two. I hope you all enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writting it. Remember to rate high and message me to write the next one or I just might not. ♥Miz.
