"Jiraiya-sama!! Why are we doing this?" Arashi whined.
"To see if your fit enough to be a ninja." Jiraiya replied.
"But why this?"
You watch carefully as you see Jiraiya's expresion change from one to another as he thought up an answer.
"Because, its funny." he finally replied after a moment of silence.
You almost fell from your position if you didn't remember you would have to go back to the academy.
"But this???" Arashi groaned.
"Yes, or do you want to fail?" Jiraiya countered.
You and Arashi were at the moment hanging upside down from a tree, and the only thing keeping you from having your head collide with the dirt, was the chakra in your feet.
(Ok! After I finished writing most of this part, I realized the whole
'Survival Test' was started by the third hokage [not the fourth/yondaime] so Jiraiya should
be doing this test. But, I'm too lazy so I'll just keep the 'hanging upside down test'
as it is.)
"But Jiraiya! We just learned this yesterday! We won't be able to stay up here for 10 minute or 5 at the least!!" Arashi complained.
"Arashi, will you just shut the hell up you terd!!!" you scream.
Arashi seems startled for a moment before turning his attention away from Jiraiya and onto you.
"What did you say Asparagus Head?!" Arashi shouts back.
"I SAID Shut the hell up you TERD!!!!" you shout.
"THAT'S IT!! As soon as this is over, I'm gonna come over there and KICK YOUR ASS!!!" he throws back at you.
"Awwww, why can't you fight now? Oh, maybe you can't even fight without falling? Pathetic." you coo in an annoying voice.
"I could kick your ass while standing upside down any day!!!" he shouts.
"Yeah right." you mumble, but loud enough for Arashi to hear.
"I HEARD THAT AND YES I CAN!!!" Arashi screams at you.
"Well, I'm waiting." you throw back as you wait for him to attack you in some way.
As you discretely observe him, you notice his hands carefully reach into his hip pouch. He was probably reaching for a shuriken.
*Get ready.* you think as you watch his hands take a hold of something.
In one instant, Arashi pulls out 3 shuriken and throws them at you with precision. As the shurikens fly towards your stomach, you focus most of your chakra into one foot while you lift up the other to a higher branch. Before the shurikens plunge into your soft skin, you focus all your chakra into that one foot, which lifts you up into the air and towards the other branch. The shurikens whistle by your ear and imbed themselves into the bark of the tree behind you. You quickly place your other foot back onto the new branch you are standing on to maintain balance. All this time you remained upside down.
"Holy shit!"
You glance over to Arashi to find his mouth slightly agaped in amazment. From his point of view it looked like you fell upwards (instead of downwards) to another branch.
"Learn from the pros." you state arrogantly.
Arashi's face changes quickly from amazment to anger as your comment escapes your mouth.
"I could do that!!!"
"Yeah, right." you mumble, but again loud enough for Arashi to hear.
*Here we go again. He's just so easy to frustrate.* you think as you watch Arashi open his mouth to throw an insult back.
"Times up!"
"I said 'Times up!'" he replies as he glances at both of you with a large smile. "B-But it hasn't been 10 minutes!" a confused Arashi says. "Actually, it's been about 23 minutes. You two were fighting so much that you didn't notice the time going by." Jiraiya says before letting a yawn escape his mouth and mumbling something about sleep. "So can we get down?" you ask finally. "Sure. You two are now officially Konoha Ninja. Now, I'm going to take a quick nap. I had a late night mission and I need some sleep. Be back here in about an hour, okay." he answers before leaning back against a tree. "AWESOME!!!" Arashi shouts as he sticks his fist upwards- err...downwards. "Ok, Sunshine Boy. Let's get down." you say as you get ready to release your feet. You had just begin to notice the fatigue that appeared in your body and you would gladly like to get down and take a nice nap also. Right before you let go of the branch with your chakra, you glance up to see Arashi looking at you intently. "Well? Are you gonna get down?" you ask as you cock one of your eyebrows. "Aren't you gonna get down?" he replies back. "Nah, I'll wait for you." you answer. "No, it's fine! Ladies first!" he quickly shouts. "Shouldn't gentlemen help a lady down, which means you should be the one on the ground?!" you throw back. "I'm not a gentleman, so you go!!" he answers. *Ok, I'm getting tired of this. I know what he's gonna do if I land on the ground first, but I just want to sleep. Damn Arashi.* you think before giving a short sigh. "Fine." you say before stopping the flow of chakra in your feet, causing you to fall to the ground. Before you hit the ground, you flip forward and silently land onto the ground with pure grace. "Well? Are you coming?" you ask as you turn your head to see a triumphet look spreading across Arashi's face. He jumps down to the ground in a more rugged movement before shoving his finger in front of your face. "HA! I stayed up longer than you! You LOSE!" he shouts into your face. As Arashi turns around to begin his unpleasant boasting, you quickly draw your fist back and give a quick but painful punch to the back of Arashi's head.

"What?!" both you and Arashi shout as the two of you turn your heads towards your white-haired sensei.
"Ooooh! What happened to you?!" you joke as you begin 'pity' him.
"Oma Kora su!! (I'm going to kill you)" he shouts as he slowly gets up while rubbing his head.
"Like you can." you state before walking away from Arashi. If he really was going to try and kill you, you would like to have a head start at least.
"Oma Korence!! (Prepare to die)" you hear Arashi shout as he begins to sprint towards you.
"Kuso!!(Shit)" you mumble before begining a quick sprint. "Boku no shiri ni kisu siro!!(Kiss my ass)" you shout back as you turn your head to see Arashi right behind you. *Kuso. He's faster then I thought. I better pick up the pace.* you think as you see Arashi slowly advance on you. As you gain speed quickly, you look back to see Arashi struggling to keep up with you. *HA! SHOWS HIM WHO'S- SHIT!!!!* as you turn your head back in front of you, you can feel your face collide with something very, VERY hard. *Chikusho! Chikusho! Chikusho! Chikusho!...(damnit)* you repeat in your head as you clutch you face in pain. As you let a couple grunts of pain escape your mouth, you can hear laughter echo behind you. "WHAT SO DAMN FUNNY!?!?" you scream at Arashi, who is now on the ground, clutching his stomach from laughter. "YOU JUST RAN INTO THAT ROCK!!! HOW'S THAT NOT FUNNY?!?!" he laughs. "Ass." you grunt as you turn you attention back to your face. "Great. I have a bloody nose." you mumble as you wipe blood away from your nose. "What happened here?" you here another voice come from behind you. You look back to see a tired Jiraiya coming out of the forest and towards the two of you. "Y-YATSUMI JUST RAN INTO THAT ROCK!!!! HAHAHA!!" Arashi gasps out in between fits of laughter. "Oh. Well when I woke up, I noticed that the two of you were gone. At first I thought you two were...," Jiraiya says as he elbows Arashi in a 'you know' way. Arashi's face immediately turns to a beet red color. *Ok. Odd.* you think as you watch the both of them exchange glances. "-and anyways, I've decided we'll start training tomorrow. You two need to be here at noon tomorrow. We will begin some intensive training so I suggest you bring every weapon you have." Jiraiya says before walking towards you. "You okay?" he asks as he lends a hand down. "Peachy." you mutter as you grab his hand to pull yourself up. "Well, I must go see the Hokage to tell hm you two passed. LATER!" he shouts before disappearing in a puff of smoke. "Haha...So are you okay?" Arashi asks as his chuckles die down. "Yeah." you sigh as you wipe of the last drops of blood. Arashi simply nods his head as an answer. *This day gets weirder and weirder. When did Arashi care? Last I checked he would just laugh in my face.* you think as you get up from the ground. "I'm gonna go home now," you say, "It's getting late and I have to be home by 8 or my parents will kill me." you try to say in a joking manner, but deep down it still pains you. You hear no answer from Arashi, but still begin to make your way towards the nearest road. "I have to ask you something." you hear him call out to you. You slowly turn to see Arashi glancing at you curiously. "What." you ask as he slowly hauls his self of the grass. "Are you lying?" he asks as a serious expression spreads across his face. "What do you mean?" you try to answer calmly but mentally hit yourself as your voice cracks. "You joke so much about you parents, yet everytime I speak about them you get...angry..." he starts as he gazes up into the blue sky. "It's just by insticnt. I just don't want anyone to say anything bad about them. I love them alot!" you say as you struggle to keep your voice from cracking. *Does he know?* you think as you stare at him. Arashi stands there silently before taking his gaze off the sky and onto you. As you can feel his eyes land onto you, you can fell your heart skip a couple beats. *What is this feeling?* "Is there anything you'd like to tell me?" he asks with such a calm voice you can feel shivers crawl up and down your spine. "N-Noo, T-theres nothing, r-really!" you stutter as you stare into his deep blue eyes. His gaze returns to the sky and he gives a slight shrug. "Suit yourself." he says before walking towards the road leading to his house. You stand there silently with a frustrated expression painted on your face. *Does he know?* are the only words that are going through your head.
