I've Fallen for A Deadly Sin... Envy... PROLOGUE (Envy, fma story)

I started it! Finally!

Created by -CandyGirl- on Monday, October 02, 2006

Ok, fellows, I've been really busy because of the school and all... But that doesn't mean I won't keep writing! So... Here it is!
Like I'd care why you don't write anymore so quickly. (ME: ...thanks a lot)
Colonel Mustang sat behind his desk going through some work papers. Work work work. Nothing exciting had happened during the last five weeks.
Someone knocked on the door.
"Come in."
It was Hawkeye. Roy gave him a slight smirk, which she didn't answer, only put a light brown file on his table.
"Did you finally bring me some photos of you?" Mustang teased her.
"It's a file about our newest State Alchemist, sir", Riza said ignoring his sentence. "Does a name Henry Walters say anything to you?"
"Oh yeah, the Walters' couple: Henry and Alexandra Walters, also known as the Dust Alchemist and the Rose Alchemist", Roy said nodding. "Hmm... Alexandra was killed in Ishbalan, wasn't she? It was an awful lost, she was a real beauty in the military..."
Riza coughed rather irritated.
"That is not my point, Colonel", she said. "My point is the new Alchemist, who is also known as the Storm Alchemist."
Roy rose his eye brows.
"Nice name."
"Yes, she's the only daughter of Henry and Alexandra. Her name -"
"Is Cassandra Walters", said Roy cutting Hawkeye's sentence. He had oddly became more interested now that it had appeared that The Alchemist was a girl.
That's Roy. (Me: yeah...)
He read the file through. Then, a little smirk appaered on his lips.
"Seventeen years old, in nice body shape, as beautiful as her mother, and very admirable powers: can create a thunder storm wherever and use electricity many different ways."
"She's coming here tomorrow. Would you like to meet her?"
Roy smiled and nodded.
"Yes, it would be a pleasure."
~AT SAME TIME IN THE MENTAL INSTITUTION OF WHITE LILIES~ (nice name... lilies are funeral flowers...< <;)
"Oh, Miss Walters, you are already here!" said a nurse that I knew as Marie.
"Yes, I came to see my father", I answered smiling.
"Please, come with me. He's outside having some fresh air."
We walked to the yard which was surrounded by thick metal walls. I saw a man sitting on a bench: a quite tall and muscular man with short, dark red hair and grey eyes, who was gazing somewhere to nothingness. I recognized my father immediately.
I walked next to him and sat down.
"Hello, father... I mean Mr. Walters," I said, and he blinked and turned his head to look at me quite confused.
"Hello. How did you knew my name?"
"You were the major in the military, right? I'm a big fan of yours", I answered.
"What do you mean 'were'? I AM the major in the military. And my wife, do you know my wife, Alexandra? She is the 1st lieutenant in the military", he said and gave me a smile. "Although she's now on vacation. She's pregnant you know?"
"Father, mother died a long time ago - the child you are talking about is me, your daughter, Cassie. And I just passed the exams - I'm going to be a State Alchemist!"
He started to gaze again to nothingness, ignoring my sentence.
"Who are you watching?" I asked, eventhough I knew the answer already.
"My wife", he answered smiling a bit. "There she is - there, that beautiful, brown-haired woman. Isn't she beautiful?"
"Dad, mother's dead, there's no one there", I said to him but then he looked at me quite harshly.
"What right do you have call me Dad? And of course she's there, I can see her perfectly... She's... covered in blood... But she's there, even though she has a hole on her chest, she's there... she's smiling to me..."
He smiled for no reason, and I sighed.
"Sorry for disturbing you, Mr. Walters", I said to him. But he didn't notice me anymore, he was speaking to someone that didn't even excist in this world anymore.
----
"He's not showing any signs of getting healthier, Miss Walters", said a male doctor to me apologizing look on his face. "He's still having hallucinations about her dead wife - terrible and violent ones -and he still things that she's alive and that you haven't even born yet. You must understand that we can't let him go just yet."
I fell silent for awhile.
"Yes. I understand perfectly. I just wanted to tell him that I've finally become an Alchemist like he and mother were."
