"And now Sammaul, Talithas boyfriend of four months, would like to say a few words," the funeral director stepped down from the small platform set up by the grave of a deceased sixteen year old girl from the city of Adelaide in Australia. She had never set foot inside a place of worship and her family and boyfriend knew that she would never rest if the funeral was held in a church. The truth was that she was a firm supporter of Satanism. She, of course, was a Satanist herself but Sammaul and his family were Christians, so she had to hide her beliefs. Sammaul, who was eighteen, knew of her chosen religion but he loved her so it didnt matter to him. All he worried about was his family finding out and forcing them to separate, to never see each other again. So they requested the funeral to be held outside on the grounds by her grave so that they could see her being lowered into the ground. The wake was then to be held at the house Talitha and Sammaul shared. Sammaul walked up to the raised platform and started to speak:
"When I first met Talitha I thought she was the most beautiful girl I had ever met. She seemed perfect in every way. She was perfect in every way. I loved her so much," tears were falling from his eyes.
"I dont know why she had to leave me like this," his voice faltered, the tears falling more freely now. He looked down at the ground and then at the coffin that held Talithas body. He didnt know if he could go any further. But he had to. He had to say what he felt about her.
"II never even got to say goodbye," again he stopped unable to go any further. He looked over at the coffin again and that seemed to give him strength. Sammaul looked out into the families of Talitha and his own, searching for his mother, hoping she was still here. He couldnt do this alone. She had never approved of the relationship. She had always thought of Talitha as evil. Sammaul thought that his mother thought that because Talitha was gothic. She was only there at the request of her son. Searching through the people standing in front of the platform, he couldnt see his mother. He knew that she had left, had wandered off because he had seen her amongst the crowd earlier. How could she do this to him? At the time when he needed her to be here the most. Still he carried on.
"I miss you so much, Talitha. I would give anything to have you back. Anything. I love you, forever and ever."
He hung his head the tears threatening to overwhelm him again. The funeral director saw that this time Sammaul couldnt go on and let him step down from the platform.
