'This mission really sucks!!! I've been at this stupid place for far too long and I still haven't found out anything except for the fact that most of the guys are perverted pigs!!! And most of all...I HATE BEING CAGED UP IN THIS CAGE AND THIS SAND WON'T STAY OUT OF MY DAMN EYES!!!' you think looking outside through the wooden bars.
"Ariel, you have a customer waiting for you!!!" the boss of the brothel (whore house) yells to you.
"Comming!!!" you yell standing up. 'Well, at least I can have some fun with the poor pathetic guy...he has no idea what he's getting himself into.' you think smirking as one of the guards let you out of the cage and leads you into the room where you alledgely do your 'business'. When the guard opens the door to the room, there is a guy sitting on the floor.
"Don't just stand there like an idiot Ariel, go in there and satisify your customer. You must excuse her sir. She doesn't usually act this way." the guard says.
"That's ok. But you weren't lying when you said she was a looker." he says smiling.
"Well, I hope you enjoy your time here." the guard says leaving out of the room.
"Well, how about we get started." the guy says taking his kimono top off.
'There's no way this baka is gonna even think about doing something with me. Time for me to have some fun.' you think with a smirk.
"What are you thinking about Ariel?"
"Oh nothing. Now, I want you to lay right there and look deep into my eyes." you say pushing him softly onto the bed. 'This is gonna be too easy.' you think as you use your genjutsu on him. You get off the bed and put a pillow in your place. "You got what you came here for...except it'll be with a pillow." you mutter while trying not to laugh at seeing him make-out with the pillow.
You go by the window because you'd rather not watch what'll happen next. You look up at the clear blue sky thoughtless. Soon, a little white dove sits at the windowsill and you notice that it has a note attached to its leg. "I wonder what this could be..." you say as you open the letter. You read it through real quick and when you finish, you get an anime twitch and you flare up in a silent rage. 'So they think they can make a fool outta me huh!!!! I'll get them for this!!!' you think as you rapidly sneak out of the window and run at top speed to your village.
In the meantime, the few shinobi and the leader of the small village talk about a recent event in the office. "Oh man!!! Mel is gonna be pissed when she reads that letter!!!" Mina, your best friend, says while laughing extremely hard.
"Leader, don't you think we should take cover before she get's here?" Sai asks.
"That won't be neccessary because she should be here any minute now. I wouldn't want to miss the look on her face." he replies. "And I think I hear her comming right about now."
"KEL!!!! WHAT KIND OF SICK JOKE IS THIS?!?!" you shout bursting through the office.
"I see you've recieved the letter?" he says with a chuckle.
"DAMN RIGHT I'VE SEEN IT AND I'M NOT TOO PLEASED WITH IT!!! WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING ABOUT SENDING ME ON A BOGUS MISSION AT THE BROTHEL!?!?!"
"April Fools!!!" he says laughing and falling out of his seat.
"APRIL...FOOLS!?!? YOU THINK YOU'RE A FUNNY GUY DON'T YOU KEL!!!! LET ME SHOW YOU FUNNY...WHEN I'M BEATING YOUR ASS!!!" you yell lashing out at him, but Mina and Sai hold you back from doing so.
"Oh calm down now Mel. It was just a joke." he says still lauging a bit.
"You've gotta be kidding me." you say with your face looking like -_-.
"As of right now, you are on vacation." he tells you.
"What, but I can!!! What about the other missions!!!" you plead.
"It's already taken care of. You've been working on missions nonstop for the past five years and it's time that you take a break."
"Fine, but for how long? A week?" you ask.
"It'll be indeffinitely."
"What!?! But-"
"Mel, it'll be for the best. Now, I expect you to be out of the village by tomorrow to start your vacation. Since Mina has some time off, she can go with you. Other than that you're dismissed."
"Grrr...this is so unfair!!!" you yell as you leave out of the office. Mina follow in right behind you.
"Mel, it's not going to be that bad!!! You can just sit back and relax for a while." she says trying to cheer you up.
You sigh and say, "Maybe you're right. I have been working hard for the past five years and maybe it's time that I need a break, but where am I suppose to go?" you say to her.
She thinks for a minute and then she exclaims, "WE CAN GO TO KONOHA!!!"
"You just want to go there to see Kakashi." you say with a small grin.
"Maybe, but can you think of anywhere else to go? Besides, we can catch up with all of our old friends!!! It'll be fun!!!"
"You're absolutely right Mina!!! It just might be fun and I'm sure they haven't forgotten me, not after all the pranks I've pulled on everyone." you say with a smirk.
"Let's go ahead and get packing now so we can get there right away!!!" she says pulling your hand and running all the way to her house. It doesn't take long to pack because Mina is so full of energy, she finished packing a bunch of stuff and then helped you with yours. "Now that we're finished, let's go!!!" she exclaims.
"Don't you wanna wait til in the morning?" you ask yawning a bit since it's getting late.
"But I want to see Kakashi..." she pouts.
"You can see him tomorrow, but right now I need some sleep." you say laying on the couch and falling asleep.
Mina can't argue so she just goes in her room to sleep and dream about Kakashi. In the morning, you are waken up by Mina's yelling for you to get up and pushing you.
"Alright Mina, I get the point!!!" you yell finally rolling off the couch.
"We don't want to waste any time so let's go!!!" She hands you your bag full of stuff while she gets hers. She literally has to pull you out the door since your half-sleep and because of this, you aren't in the best of moods right now, but you deal with it any way. Yall walk nonstop to Konoha and yall arrive there at around 7:00.
"We're finally here!!!" Mina yells comming up to the gate.
"Yay for me." you about half dead from being sleepy.
"Before you enter I need to see your passes." the guard tells you.
You and Mina show the passes and then he lets you through the gates. When you go through the gates, the person that just happens to be walking by is Kakashi. Of course Mina squeals and goes to give him a hug and you get a smirk knowing where he was one night. Knowing that, you're ready to have some fun with Kakashi.
"Mina, I think you need to let Kakashi breathe." you say prying her off of him.
"Oh yeah. Sorry Kakahsi." Mina says blushing a bit.
"What are you two doing here?" he asks.
"I'm here on a vacation. The leader gave me one indiffenitely since I've been on missions nonstop. But what have you been up to? Still reading those books?" you say nudging him with a smirk plastered on your face.
"What books?" Mina asks being curious.
"N-nothing!!!" he shouts nervously.
"But anyway, what's happened here? This place looks different."
"We're under recovery right now." he says.
"Recovery? What happened?" you ask being concerned since this place was basically your second home. He tells you everything that happens on the way to get something to eat.
"That's terrible." Mina says when he's finished.
"I know. Who's going to be Hokage now?" you ask.
"We're trying to find Jiraiya for-"
"That pervert!!! You'd be better off with no Hokage then." you say finishing your third bowl of ramen.
"We really don't have many choices at this time."
"So how's Sasuke dealing with the curse mark?" you ask.
"He's managing."
"I just wish I could have been there for him."
"No, it couldn't be stopped so don't blame yourself for it. Now, have you found a place to stay yet?" he says.
"No." you reply.
"Yall can stay with me if you want." Kakashi say cheerily.
"Really!!! You're so sweet Kakash!!!" Mina says giving him a hug.
"More like a pervert." you mutter as you roll your eyes. After finishing the rest of the food, yall head off to his house to get situated. You sleep on the couch and of course Mina and Kakashi sleep in his bed. "Try not to wake me up!!!" you yell turning the lights off.
"It's not what you think Mel!!!" Kakashi yells back to you.
'Like I really believe you.' you think pulling up the covers as you lay your head against the pillow on the couch. The last thing you do before you go to sleep is hold the necklace on your neck and mutter, "Why did you do it?" With that said you drift into a peaceful sleep.

Over the next few days you spend time catching up with old friends and rivals. As a matter of fact, you're quite happy that you were given a vacation; you can't remember the last time you've felt this relaxed. Today, you promised Sasuke you would spend time with him and of course Mina is spending the day with Kakashi. It's about 12:00 p.m and it's time to meet Sasuke at the resturant for lunch. When you arrive there, he looks a little irritated.
"You're 20 minutes late." he says.
"Yeah, about that. I slept in a little late. Sorry bout that." you say laughing a bit.
"Hn. You're just like Kakashi-sensei." he says looking at the menu.
"No. Knowing Kakashi, I'm sure he shows up several hours late."
"I guess you're right." he replies.
"Um waiter, I'll have four bowls of ramen please." you say to the guy.
"And for you young man?"
"Uhh...I'll have two bowls of ramen." Sasuke tells him.
"Comming right up." the waiter says leaving.
"How can you eat so much? You're just like Naruto." he says with a half smirk.
"We did have an eating contest yesterday and he thought he could out eat me. I sure showed him a thing or two." you say recieving the bowl of ramen that the waiter just brought.
"So I guess you won."
"Won? Ha!! That's an understatement!!! I kicked his ass!!!" you say indulging in the ramen while moving unto your second bowl.
"You really haven't changed a bit." Sasuke says eating as well.
"I wouldn't say all that, but you surely have changed. You've gotten a lot stronger and more handsome since the last time I want here. I'm sure you're a real ladies man huh?" you say grinning while poking him in the arm.
"No and cut that out!!!" he says pushing your hand a way.
"SASUKE!!!" an annoying voice yells.
"Oh no, she's here." he says sighing.
"She who?" you ask turning around. When you do you see a girl around Sasuke's age with short pink hair.
"Sasuke I've been looking all over for you and who is this you're with?" the girl says sounding a bit jealous.
"I'm Mel, an old friend of Sasuke's. He's like my little brother." you say giving him a noggie.
"Oh, well I'm Sakura Haruno!!! It's nice to meet you Mel!!! Well, hope to see you soon. Bye Sasuke!!!" she says leaving.
"Thank you. She's gone." Sasuke says giving a sigh of relief.
"Is that your girlfriend Sasuke?" you tease.
"No!!!" he shouts.
"Well, ok. What do you want to do now?" you ask him.
"Can you train me some?" he asks.
"Train? Sure, I don't see why not. Who knows Sasuke. One day you'll be able to surpass me." you say getting from the table, but as you do you and Sasuke hear someone say there's been a huge fight. Being as curious as you are you go over to ask him.
"Yeah, there's been a fight. Two strange guys came into the village and fought with a jounin. I think the name was Kakashi something and now he's in the hospital."
"What?! Are you sure?!?" you ask.
"Yeah."
Without needing to say a word to one another, you and Sasuke head straight for the hospital where Kakashi is and you find Mina there crying.
"Mina, what happened?! Who did this to him?!" you shout. She gives you a worried look along with Asuma, Gai and Kurenai. "What the hell is going on here? Why aren't yall saying anything?" you ask.
"It shouldn't be that hard of a question to answer." Sasuke adds.
"It's more complicated than you think. It's best if neither of you know." Asuma says.
"But why-"
Just then a ninja comes through the door saying, "Is it true that Itachi came back to town!?!" At the mention of his name your whole body freezes up and your heart skips a beat.
"I-Itachi's b-back..." you stutter.
"And that...he's looking for Naruto?!" the ninja yells.
"You baka!!" Kurenai yells at him. In a flash Sauske runs out the door and you suspect that he's heading for Itachi.
"No, Sasuke come back!!!" you yell for him, but it's too late.
"Damn you Itachi!!!" you yell bursting out of the room after Sasuke. 'I gotta get there before Saske does. He doens't stand a chance against Itachi. That b*stard!!! Comming back after what he's done!!!' you think running at top speed through the street so Naruto Apartments. "I hope I'm not to late." you think as you run up the stairs of the apartment complex.
You get to Naruto floor and then you run down the hall and around the corner to come to a sudden stop at seeing Naruto in the hallway with two men. "Naruto!!! Get away from them now!!!" you yell. This makes them turn their attention toward you and Itachi only glances back.
"It's been a long time...Melinda." he says.
"Don't you dare speak to me you b*stard!!! How dare you show your face here after what you've done!!!" you shout.
"She sure is bold speaking to you like that and her eyes are filled with hate. Who is she?" the shark looking one asks him.
"An old aquaintance." he replies.
"Don't you dare say that!!! I have no relation with you!!! Not now not-"
"Itachi!!!" Sasuke yells comming around the corner.
"Damn it Sauske, don't do this!!!" you yell seeing him standing next to you with his Sharigan activated.
"No!! After what he's done he deserves to die!!!" Sasuke yells with a blue energy comming from his hand. You take a step back from him realizing that he's using Chidori.
"Sasuke, don't do this!!!" you shout.
"No!!! I've hated you, detested you!!! And I've survived...just to kill you!!!" he yells running at Itachi full of hate. Unfortunately his attack doesn't phase Itachi as he is able to block it and inflict major damage to Sasuke. Not being able to stand it anymore, you jump infront of Sasuke to prevent Itachi from hitting him.
"No Mel, get away." Sasuke says weakly.
"Not if that means to see you in pain I won't. Itachi, I won't let you hurt Sasuke again!!!" you say getting into your battle stance.
"This is my fight. I'll take care of this." Sasuke says standing up slowly, but then he just falls back down and you catch him.
"Both of you stay down. I'll take care of it from here." Jiraiya says comming into the scene.
"No, I'll take care of this!!! I owe him one!!!" you say glaring at Itachi with your eyes filled with hate.
"This doesn't concern you Melinda." you hear Itachi say. You start running at Itachi ready to attack him, but then he disappears before your eyes.
"Where'd he-" You'd finish your sentence, but all of a sudden black out, however, Itachi catches you before you fall.
"Let her go!!!" Sasuke yells. Just then Gai shows up ready to fight. Knowing that more might show, Kisame and Itachi exit the scene taking you with them. After a while you wake up trying to figure out what happened to you.
"Where the hell am I?" you ask rubbing your head a little.
"Looks like someone is away." you hear someone say. You look over to see that is was the shark looking dude walking. You then realize that you're being carried and you look up to see Itachi carrying you. You blush lightly, but then you jump out of his arms and resume your battling stance. "What the hell is going on and how dare you even think about touching me!!!" you yell at him.
"We've holding you captive." the shark guy says.
"Why!?! You couldn't have anything to gain from capturing me!!!" you shout.
"It was Itachi's orders and I'm sure not going to question him about it."
You look at the Shark guy and then you turn your attention to back to Itachi. Here stood the guy that killed his entire clan; here stood the guy who brought so much pain; here stood Itachi, the man you once had feelings for, but then supressed because of what he did. Now you have your chance to kill him and finally have a chance at peace, but the question is, will it bring peace to you, or will it only cause more pain?

You pull out your kunai and prepare yourself for battle. "Listen little girl. I hope you're not foolish enough to challenge us." Kisame says with a highly amused smirk on his face. You turn and grin at him.
"No, not both of you shark face, I only want Uchiha dead. You're just in the way." you say coldly.
"You think you can beat him huh? You must be wanting to committ suicide." he laughs.
"Hn. You're going to help me beat him." you say facing Kisame now. He pauses and looks at you in confusement. You do a few hand seal to activate your bloodline-limit, Hypnotic Eye, which enable you to control whoever is caught in it and luckily, Kisame fell right into your trap and he is now holding his sword to Itachi's neck. "Looks like your little partner their is against you as well." you say glaring at Itachi.
He only stares at you with those emotionless eyes and says, "Melinda, stop this now." You look at him more hatefully; filled with rage that he would say your name as if it was like five years ago.
"I hate you Itachi. I want you to die and be out of my life forever. I will not miss this opportunity to do so." you say to him harshly.
"Then why don't you kill me then?" he asks.
He's right. Why don't you kill him? You have the perfect opportunity to do so and you have his partner under control and ready to act any moment. Instead of killing him, you just look at him and don't do anything.
'Why am I just standing here?!? Kill him Mel, he's right infront of you!!! After all the things he's done he deserves to die right?' you think to yourself.
"Words don't mean anything if they don't have any action to back it up." he states. You continue your glare at him, but then you react by moving your hand in a swiping manner which causes Kisame to swing his sword at Itachi's neck. He easily dodges it and disappears.
'Damn it!!! Why the hell did I just do that?!' you think while trying to sense Itachi's movements.
When you finally do sense him, it's already too late as he punches you hard in the stomach which causes you to lose your breath. He then hit's the pressure point on your neck which makes you blackout. Kisame is then released from your control and Itachi just picks you up from the ground and tosses you over his shoulder.
"Damn, what the hell did she do to me?" Kisame asks.
Itachi glances back at his partner and says, "You're a real idiot."
"Hn. So what now?" he asks him.
"Just follow me." Itachi says walking past Kisame through the woods. While walking, he glances back at you on his should and mutters, "Foolish girl," and cotinues to walk.
When you wake up, you find yourself in a bed in a small room. 'Where the hell am I?' you think as you look around the room.
"So you're awake now." you hear Itachi's voice say. You look and you see Itachi sitting in a chair in the corner of the room looking at you with his emotionless eyes. The sight of seeing him just makes your blood boil and yet your heart still skips a beat when you look into his eyes. You reach for you kunai, but you realize that it's not there.
"Don't even bother trying to fight me. We took all your weapons and Kisame drained almost all of your chakra. You're no threat to us." he says bluntly.
"What!?" you say getting up out of the bed, but you now know what he says is true because you fall back down from feeling so weak and you can't find any weapon you might have hidden.
"It really has been awhile Melinda." he says with the same look on his face.
"Don't dare talk to me as if nothing happened!!! I have nothing to say to you!!!" you yell folding your arms across your chest and turing away from him.
"You did a lot of talking earlier." he says. You immediately throw a pillow at him knowing that it wouldn't help the situation, but you just had to throw something to feel better. He doesn't do anything but just stare as it hits him in the face. "Is that suppose to hurt me?" he asks with a slight smirk on his face.
You notice it and says, "No, but it's better than you talking to me and you can wipe that silly damn smirk off your face too."
"You haven't changed a bit." he says still looking at you.
When he says this, something inside of you snaps. You go over to the corner where he's sitting in the chair and yell, "It's you the one who has changed!!! Why Itachi why!!?!" He doesn't answer. He just looks at you with the same look that he's given you since he's seen you again.
"I thought you didn't want to talk to me."
"Don't play games!!! Tell me why you did it!!!" you yell.
"I told you why back then." he states.
"That's bull sh*t!!!! Give me a better answer than that!!!"
"It was either you or him." is all he says.
Your glare softens as you look at him confused.
"What?"
"Shisui. I killed him so you could live."
"What the hell is that suppose to mean?!" you snap at him.
"It is what it is."
"And that's suppose to make me feel special!!! You killed your bestfriend so I could live!!! Don't think that you did me any favors because you didn't. You're as low as dirt and I hate you. I have nothing else left to say." you say harshly as you head back to the bed.
"Are you sure?" he asks making you stop in the middle of the floor.
You grab hold of the necklace you're wearing and say, "No. I have nothing else to say except that I hate you more than you'll ever know and I will never forgive you. I despise you and detest you. You're lower than low and I wish you would stay out of my life forever."
"Is that true? Is that how you really feel, or are you just saying that?" he asks making you stop and look back at him.
"What other way would I feel right now?" you ask clutching your necklace tighter.
"I don't know. Why don't you tell me?" he says getting up and comming over to you.
You try your best to look him in the eye without becomming weak, but it's not working as feeling you felt long ago come flowing back again. You quickly turn away to prevent anything from happening and you say, "Just know that I hate you and I will kill you Itachi." you say going to the bed and getting ready to sleep since it's late.
"You're not hungry." he says.
"Just leave me alone." you say icly as you hold on to your necklace even tighter as a tear slides down your face. You soon fall off to sleep with Itachi looking over you watching you as you sleep.
~Itachi's POV~
After Melinda told Itachi that she hates him and will kill him, he asks her if she's hungry. She tells Itachi just to leave her alone. He stands by her bedside and watches her go to sleep.
'Is it that just hate me, or is it that you hate me because of how you feel?' he thinks to himself as he sits on the bed and look at her sleeping self.
Watching her sleep brings back old memories of long ago and he faintly smiles at remembering them. Seeing her again is making Itachi feel the same way he did back then even after he's tried to surpress them all this time.
'You really haven't changed.' he thinks as he gets up from the bed, but as he does he hears her whisper, "Itachi...why..." He looks back and notice a tear comming out of her eye as she clutches something against her chest.
"It was long ago...it's over now." Itachi mutters sitting back down on the bed and stroking her hair until he falls asleep.

You wake up in the morning with the feeling that something is tickling your nose. Slowly opening your eyes, you to see Itachi sleeping body laying next to yours. Your eyes then widen in shock and you faintly blush as his warm breath hits your nose. Smiling at how peaceful he looks, you can't but think of how it used to be back then.
'He looks so peaceful...just like in the old days.' you think as you reach to brush the hair from his face, but then you suddenly pull back and realize what you're doing. 'What am I thinking!!! I'm not suppose to feel like this!!! It's not like before and he betrayed his clan and me!!! I'm suppose to kill him for what he's done...right? What the hell is wrong with me?!?! It'll never be like before...I'll never be able to hate- no, I'll never be able to...what the hell am I trying to say?!? Egrr...this is so damn frustrating!!!'
While arguing mentally with yourself, you don't notice that Itachi has now awaken and looking right at you.
"What are you doing?" he asks. His voice shocks you and you fall off the bed hitting your head on the dresser.
"Damn it!!! That hurts!!!" you shout grabbing the back of your head. Itachi just continues to watch from amusement and you hear a slight chuckle. "Am I funny to you?" you snap at him. He doesn't answer and he continues to look at you in amusement. "Egrr...what the hell were you doing in the bed anyway." you say as you stand up off the floor.
"What else did it look like? I was sleeping." he states.
"Don't give me a smart-ass comment!!! You were sleeping in the bed...with ME in it!!!" you shout.
"It was the only bed in the room."
"Why didn't you sleep on the floor!?!" you scream.
He continues to look at you, but the look he gave, something was different about it but you don't know what it was so you quickly dismissed it. Just as you're about to open your mouth to say something, your stomach growls and you blush lightly from embarrassment.
"Eat this." he says tossing you an apple.
You catch it and throw it right back saying, "I'm not hungry."
"You haven't eaten since you've been with us."
"And? Do you think I care? It's probably poisoned or something."
He tosses it right back and says, "Eat," but this time it's more demanding.
"I said I'm not hungry!!" you yell chunking it out the window having glass shattering everywhere.
"Let's go." he says grabbing your hand and pulling you out of the room.
"Hey wait!?! Where the hell do you think you're taking me?!" you shout while trying to get out of his grasp. Your constant pulling is annoying him and he turns around pinning you against the hallway wall.
"Stop." he says glaring at you now. You just glare back into his eyes with as much hate as you can muster up.
"Whatever." you say rolling your eyes and looking the other way only to see a smirking Kisame.
"Am I interupting something?" Kisame says with that stupid damn smirk on his face.
"The only thing you interupted was my appetite sushi man." you say with a sly grin.
"I don't see why I can't kill her right now." Kisame says angrily.
"Enough. We're leaving." he says putting the straw hat on his head and pulling your arm through the hallway and out of the hotel.
"Let me go!!! You don't have to pull me as if I'm a child!!" you shout.
He glances back at you, but he just continues to pull you by the hand. Not being able to do anything you just send him a glare and deal with it.
"Where are we going?" you ask.
"Don't worry about it girly." Kisame says.
"No one asked you shark face. Shouldn't you be in a restuarant being cooked or something?" you ask with a grin.
Itachi can't help but smirk at your comment and Kisame only flares up in a rage. Before he does something foolish, Itachi warns him not to do anything which confuses you.
'Alright...I've got to do something about this. This might be my only chance to attack him so I gotta go for it.' you think glancing around at what you could us as a weapon. You then notice that yall are walking on a cliff and there is a beach an ocean at the bottom of it. Knowing that this might be your only opportunity, you take it and rush at Itachi knocking him and you off the cliff falling into the ocean. Your whole idea of killing him doesn't work as he swims out of the water dragging you with him.
"What were you trying to accomplish by doing that?" he asks tying you up.
"What else did it look like you idiot!! I was trying to kill you." you say choking from the sea water in your throat.
"I guess you forgot I could swim?" he says with a smrik.
"Shut-up!!" When he's finished tying up your arms and legs he begins to walk off. "Hey wait!!! Where the hell do you think you're going?!" you shout.
"Don't worry about it." he says continuing to walk off.
"You can't just leave me here like this!!" you yell, but it's already too late as he disappears into the forest of the place. "Damn you Itachi." you mutter as you try to get out of the ropes, but you soon learn they are concealed by chakra and it's almost impossible to get out of it unless the one who tied it releases you. Instead of wasting your time with that, you've decided to try and stand to make it to inland.
You literally spend all day doing this and you're starting to make progress. Too bad you try going up a sligh hill because you lose your balance which makes you fall down and roll back into the shore where the ocean waves are comming in.
'Just my luck.' you think sarcastically as the waves hit you in the face. You try to move, but your ropes are stuck on something and now you can't move from that spot.
You stay in that spot until the day gets late and night begins to fall. Thankfully to you, Itachi finally returns and he has an amused look on his facing seeing you in the situation that you're in.
"What are you doing?" he asks.
"What does it look like to you!!! Just help me outta here!!!" you snap at him.
"Talking like that will get you no where." he says leaning down.
"Just help me." you state. He looks at you for a bit and then he helps you out of the water, but suprisingly enough, he releases you from the ropes. "Huh? What are you doing?" you ask with a confused look on your face.
"You're not a threat." he says getting up and leaving.
"What?! I am a threat to you!!! If you don't watch your back I'll surely kill you!!" you yell following him into a cave that is close to inland. You see that there is a fire in there and fish cooking as well. "Is this why you left me there all day?" you ask being a little bit pissed. He just glancing and goes on to sit down on a rock. You decide that you might as well sitdown somewhere too so you sit on the rock across from him.
"Eat." he says handing you a piece of fish.
"No, I'm not-" *Stomach Growls* "hungry." you say blushing as you take the fish and eat it. Just before you take your last bite, you sneez and blow the fish right into the fire. You curse out loud, but then that's followed by a series of more sneezes.
"You need to take off your clothes." Itachi says.
"What?!?"
"Your clothes are wet and you'll get sick." he says being slightly worried.
"Hn. Why do you care if I get sick or not?" you ask with an attitude.
He sighs and says, "Just do it."
You glare at him, but you know he's right and you stand up. "Turn around." you tell him, but he just continues to look at you. You mutter more cussing under your breath and you turn around and take off your clothes leaving on your underwear on. Before you turn around he tosses his Akatsuki cloak for you to wear. You wrap it around you and sit back down on the rock and look at the ground while knowing that Itachi is still looking at you.
"What's going on?" you ask still looking at the ground.
"What do you mean?"
"Why are you doing this? I'm just being held captive right so why are you helping me?"
He remains silent for a while and says, "I didn't realize you were that dense."
"What the hell is that suppose to mean?" you snap looking up.
"You are dense." he states while gazing into your eyes.
"Maybe if you weren't so vague."
"I see that you're talking to me now." he says.
"Hmph!!! I'm not talking to your from this point on!!!" you shout wraping yourself up tighter and laying your head against the wall. Soon after you fall asleep holding the necklace around your neck.

During the middle of the night you find yourself waking up for some reason. While doing so, you see that Itachi is on his way to sleeping and you can't understand why he ins't keeping watch on you to make sure you don't excape or try to kill him.
"Hey you, Itachi, I hope you're not trying to go to sleep over there." you snap at him.
He glances over to you and says, "That's what people do...sleep."
"That's not what I talking about!!! Here I am, being held captive by you and you're just going to leave you prisoner unguarded. If you let your guard down I can kill you."
"I doubt that. Now go back to sleep." he says closing his eyes not.
"Wait!!! I don't understand!!! First you untied me, helped me out and now you're just going to sleep without keeping a watch on me?!" you shout at him.
"Listen Melinda-"
"Don't call me that."
"Melinda, I didn't think you were that dense." he states.
"There you go being vague again!!! Just tell me what you're talking about?!" you shout angrily.
He lays his head against the wall again and closes his eyes to say, "Just go to sleep." You let out a growl and then you get up walking out of the cave to look at the night sky to think.
'Egrr...I can't believe he's doing this. And what does he mean that I'm dense? What could he possibly mean- no, that can't be what he's trying to say does it? It would all make sense but no, I won't believe it. It'll never be like before...never!!!' you think looking up at the moon and holding tightly to your necklace. "Why Itachi..." you whisper softly.
You stay out there for a while and then you go back into the cave and sit on the ground. When you look at Itachi, he's sleeping so peacefully and you can't help but smile and him, but all this confuses you. 'No...I can't think like that again. I should take this chance to kill him now that his guard is let down, but...' You see that there is a kunai off in the distance so you go over there to pick it up and then you go over to the sleeping Itachi and stand there with the kunai in your hand.
'Alright, here's my chance to kill him, but why am I hesitating?!?! Why Mel!!! He's right there!!! After all he's done he deserves to die right!? But...why is it that I still have-'
"Melinda, what are you doing?" you hear Itachi ask. With all the arguing you've done mentally, you've failed to take notice that Itachi is awake now.
"I'm trying to kill you." you say getting the kunai ready and holding on to your necklace tighter.
"Then why don't you go ahead and do it." Itachi says cooly.
"What?" you ask being shocked.
"You've been saying that you want to kill me, so go ahead and do it." he says simply.
"Damn you Itachi!!!!" you yell as you drive the kunai towards him, but you end up piercing it through the cave wall instead. "Damn you Itachi!!! YOU!!! Y-O-U!!! You're making this so...HARD!!!" you shout falling to your knees.
"It's simple. If you want to kill me then just do it."
You look at him with your angry eyes and say, "If it was that simple. don't you think I would have done it by now!?"
"Then why don't you?" he asks.
"It's because I still lov- hate you!!! I love to hate you!!! I hate you, I hate you, I HATE YOU ITACHI!!!" you yell at the top of your lungs and trying to hold back any tears that might be trying to come out.
"If you hate me so much, then just to it." he says till looking at you.
"Don't you think I would have by now?" you say pulling the kunai out of the cave wall. He does answer. "I'm just a freakin idiot." you going back to sit down. Without knowing it, you keep holding your necklace and Itachi notices.
"That necklace." he says.
"Huh?" you say looking at him.
"That necklace. Is that the one I-"
"No. The person that gave it to me died a long time ago." you say trying to hide it as you put your dry clothes back on. After that, you rest your head against the cave wall and fall asleep still holding your necklace.
~Itachi's POV~
'What was she about to say? Was it that she still loved me? No...that isn't it. She said she hated me, but why was she holding that necklace so tightly if it wasn't the one I gave her. It doesn't matter...things will never be the same again. Itachi thinks going over and sitting next to her.
"Melinda, I am sorry." he whispers while wiping the tears from her face and cover her with his cloak. Itachi then rest his head against the wall and go back to sleep as well.
~End POV~
When you wake up in the morning, you find yourself wraped in a blanket and Itachi sleeping next to you. You blink a couple of times thinking that he had to be the one to wrap you in the his cloak. You stir a little bit, but that's enough to wake Itachi up.
"Umm...thanks." you say handing him back his cloak. He looks shocked that you would even thank him for it. "Don't look at me like that!! Here, just take it!!" you say shoving it in his arms. He looks at you for a couple seconds more before telling you that yall need to leave since it'll start raining soon. You nod your head and leave out of the cave with him.
While walking on the path each of you remain silent, not saying a word to each other. Not too long after walking, it soon begins to rain so now you have to seek shelter. In the persuit of searching, you stop and stand in the rain and Itachi notices.
"Melinda, what are you-"
"Why Itachi. Why did you do it!?!" you yell at the top of your lungs.
"We don't have time for this right now." he says looking at you.
"No!!! You're going to tell me right now why you did it and don't you DARE give me a crapy answer!!!" you yell walking over to him.
At first he remains silent; not saying a word and just staring. Then he says, "I had to become stronger."
"What!?! You were already strong!!! I don't understand!!!" you yell staring into his eyes.
"I had to see what I was capable of." he states.
"So that's why you did it!!! To see what you were capable of!!! I hope you're happy now!!! I guess you're the strongest of all now, but what's the point of being strong if you don't have anyone to protect!!!" you yell pushing him. "Tell me, what's the point of being the strongest if you have no one left to protect!!!!"
"No, there is someone left to protect, Melinda." he says reaching out to touch your face, but you move it away and say, "No. You killed all of them a long time ago."
"But you're the one I want to protect Melinda." he says reaching out, but this time he manages to touch and caresses his face. You've missed his touched so much, but you know it's wrong and you slap his hand away.
"Don't you DARE say that to me Itachi!!! Do you know how long I've been thinking about you Itachi!?!? Every freakin day and night!!! I cried myself to sleep each night since that day!!! It's because of you that I can't move on!!! I've wanted to hate you so much, so much, but I just can't bring myself to hate you and do you want to know why I can't!!!! It's because I still love you!!! I LOVE YOU ITACHI!!!! Even after all you've done I still love you!!! Is it a crime Itachi, is it a crime that I still want you?!?!" you yell trying your best to hold back your tears, but you are unable to as they stream down your face.
"And I want you to want me too." he says wiping the tear that are mixed in with the rain streaming from your face. Yet again you slap his hand away and take a step back away from him.
"It's too late now; it's too late for us now Itachi. You ruined what we had a long time ago; what we had is no longer. It's over...it's over between us." you say sadly walking past Itachi, but he pulls you back to him and say, "No Melinda. I've never stoped loving you since that day. I always have loved you, and I always will."
"But Itachi I-"
He cuts you off at that moment with pressing his lips passionately against yours. So long; so long you've awaited that one day, one day you would be able to taste his addicting kiss once again. Now was that moment and you feel yourself surrendering in his arms not ever wanting to be released from his hold. Every muscle in your body was telling you to move, but your heart and you soul made it so you stayed. Wanting his loving arms around you...feeling the warmth of his embrace, and not ever wanting him to let go.
Deepening the kiss, you wraped your arms around his neck, never wanting to leave this moment, but only to cherish it for as long as you can. Kissing passionately in the rain, the apprehension you had blew away, as you only wanted him; him and only him to be with. Nothing else mattered. Kissing him, and him kissing you was more than enough. Not ever having to feel the need again to envision him caressing you; not ever having to go back in time to relieve the splendor that you and Itachi once had, because right now at that moment, everything that you'd always envision was happening. Without warning, Itachi pulled away slowly and gently caresses your face with his hand.
"Melinda...I love you." he whispered still caressing your face gently.
"I love you too." you whisper gazing into his loving eyes.
You were so caught up in the moment; you couldn't bear to let him go yet, so you drew caution to the wind, and started listening to your longing heart. And then he softly pressed his lips to yours, and feeling surfaced you surpressed for such a long, long time. And for a while you forgot the sorrow and the pain; and melted as you stood there with Itachi as he kissed you in the rain.
