At around 4 am, your cell phone started ringing. "Will I ever get to sleep AGAIN!" you mumble as you flip up the phone to see who's calling. "Moley" appears on the screen. "Shit! Um...Hello?" you say, trying to calm down. ^Hey^ "Joel, oh my gosh where are you?" ^In Maryland. I'm sorry^"For what?" ^Just leaving you. I don't know why I did it...I'm sorry^ "Joel, just come back, ok. What are you doing in Maryland anyway?" ^Just visiting. I missed it here^ "What?" you ask, anger coming over you a little too easily. ^I dunno...I just wanted to call you...I know it's early there^ "Yeah, so, when are you coming back? Or ARE you coming back?" ^I'm coming back tonight^ "Good, cause we need to talk" ^Yeah, we do. I'm sorry _____, I fucked it up^ "Joel, it's....just come home, ok?" He said good bye and hung up. You called Benji after thinking things over for a few minutes. Ring. Ring. Ring. *Hullow?* Benji asked sleepily. "Hey, sorry to call so early" *What's wrong? Is everything ok?* "Yeah Benj, calm down. Joel just called me" *WHAT!* he yelled, waking up a bit. "Yeah, he said he's coming home tomorrow. He was in Maryland this whole time" *WHAT! What the fuck?* "He said he missed it" your tone quickly changed to anger, which scared you a little. You weren't angry, you were confused. But you also understood why Joel left...you wanted to leave sometimes, too. *I'll come over tomorrow, ok?* "No Benji, you don't have to. It's ok..I can handle the twins on my own" *No, I don't want you to be alone when Joel comes back. It would make me feel better if I was there, ok?* "Whatever. You don't have to take care of me, you know that, right?" *I know* Benji said thoughtfully *But I want to. So deal with it!* You hung up and then drifted back to sleep, but it was only a matter of time before one of the babies started crying again. When morning came, it started to rain. Thick rain clouds rolled over the sky, making it dark and chilly and windy. Rain pattered against the patio door harshly, soaking Benji as he ran inside. *Hey, need to take a shower?* "No, why?" *I'd pull the shades a little* he says motioning to the backyard. "Very funny" Benjamin and Skye were both dressed and ready to go. *Where are you guys off to?* "The mall...Kylie and Billy are picking us up at 11. You wanna go?" *Nah, it's ok. I'm just gonna go home then, ok?* "Benj, now I feel bad. You came all this way in the rain, and now your going home again. Come with us" *Nah, I left someone...I mean something, um, something on in the kitchen* His face turns bright red as he stands there, shocked he let it slip. "Benjamin!" Baby Benjamin looked up at you from the floor, a questioning look on his face. *What?!* "You said you had a date last night....what kind of date was it?" *Very good* he said with an evil smile and then walked towards the patio doors again. "Benj, wait up!" you yell as he steps outside. Standing under the awning, shivering a little bit from the wind blowing rain at you. "Benji, could you stay? Incase Joel comes back." *That might not be the best idea you've ever had* "Why's that?" *I'll kill him* "Benji, he's your brother" *Too fucking bad. He's their father, and he can't just leave whenever he wants to* "Well, he's coming back. It's a start...he's just scared. I was too" *He's coming back cause he knows I'll hunt him down and kill him* "Benji, listen to me. I can't be mad at him for this, because I wanted to leave, too." *But you didn't* Benji yelled back at you. "I realize that....but Joel didn't either" *What?* "He's coming back" *Fuck that, he should have never left in the first place. Skye started crying a little when she noticed you weren't in the room. "I gotta put them in their carriers. Can you please stay, and call me when he gets back? You can bring your girlfriend..I mean kitchen appliance over if you want" Benji smiled a little and gave you a hug. *If I didn't like you, I'd say no.* Hugging him back, you smile as you pull him inside. Benjamin has found your keys, and is jingling them playfully. A horn blares outside and Kylie sends you a text message telling you they are waiting outside. "See ya later alligator" Benji helps you out to the car, and fastens Skye into her car seat. /Hey, you'r not coming?/ *Nah, I got some stuff to do. I'll catch up with you later, ok?* Benji waves as you guys drive off....

/So, did Joel call you yet?/ "Yeah, this morning" you said through a mouthfull of cookie dough icecream. You had stopped at Baskin Robbins in the food court after going through a million stores. /Really! Where has he been?/ "Maryland, of all places to go. He said he went cause he missed it" @What the fuck is that!?@ Kylie piped up, slamming her drink on the table. "I don't know. All I care about is that he's coming back" /Why?/ "Because I miss him" @What? That's even more warped then why he left@ "No, I totally understand why he left. He was scared that he'd turn out like his dad, that he'd fuck up." /Well, didn't he already do that?/ "Yeah, but....I'm not mad, cause I know what he's going through" Kylie shook her head at you and sighed. @I just don't get it. I would have dumped his ass on the curb@ "I would have too, if it was just me. But Skye and Benjamin need a father. No matter how fucked up he is, or what he does" Billy shook his head, mimicing Kylie a little. /Your a saint/ "Nah, I just know where the money is" you say joking. Giving Skye and Benjamin some more small tastes of some vanilla ice cream, you laugh about how funny they look with ice cream on their noses, and then decide to go home. The rain is still pouring down in buckets, and as you approach the house, Billy lets out a small sigh. /What jackass parked their car HERE!/ It was a car you had never seen before. "That's weird" you say as Billy stops the car and you unbuckle the carseats from the back. Billy grabs the bags, and Kylie grabs Benjamins carrier, and you all lug everything into the house. Benji ran to the door to open it. *Hey, you bough BABIES!! How cute!* "Shut up Benj and take something!" He pouted as he took some shopping bags from Billy. |Hey, I'm Josh| Someone in the living room yelled at you all, and then got up and approached you. "Hey, I think I might have met you once before" He gives you a hug and then helps with some more bags. *Big bro came over to straighten Joel out a bit* "Oh God, I need him alive, ok?" Josh laughed a little and sat down at the dining room table. |I'll be gentle. This guy won't though| he motioned to Benji, who smiled cheekily. You all sat around and talked while the twins took a nap, and then you set about to making dinner. "You guys staying?" you asked as you got up out of your seat and stretched. You got a chorus of "yeahs" and "pleases". You make a great chicken teriyaki salad, and everyone kept saying that how great it was. At around 8, Billy and Kylie decided to leave. /Hey ______/ Billy yells through the front door. "Yeah" you shout from the kitchen. /Joel's here/

Benji stormed to the front door. Josh stood up quickly to try to stop him, but wasn't quiet quick enough. Drying your hands on a towel and following Benji and Josh, you run a little faster when you hear Benji screaming. *WHY THE FUCK DID YOU COME BACK YOU DICK. WHAT THE FUCKS THE MATTER WITH YOU?* |Benji, calm down| Standing in the doorway, you see Benji standing out in the rain, Joel infront of him, soaked. *SHUT THE FUCK UP JOSH. LET ME HANDLE THIS. JOEL YOUR A FUCKING MORON. WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!* Joel said nothing, just looked in fear at Benji standing infront of him. *YOU LEFT HER HERE ALL ALONE. HOW COULD YOU BE SUCH A DICK. YOU WERE SO WORRIED YOU'D TURN OUT LIKE DAD, AND YOU DID. YOU FUCKED IT UP, YOU FUCKING FUCKED IT UP!* And with that Benji punched him. Joel fell to the ground as you and Josh ran outside. Josh pushed Benji against the car to keep him quiet. You ran to Joel and helped him off the ground. ^He's right^ Joel muttered as he pulled his arm away from you and gets up on his own. He walks inside first, you following him in, and Josh and Benji coming in a few minutes later. "Joel, go in the bedroom...I'll be in in a minute, ok?" Joel looks at you blankly and nods. Benji sits at the table with a sigh, the adreniline wearing off. *I'm sorry about that, really. He just pisses me off so much with this shit* Skye started crying alittle. "It's ok hunny" you say picking her up and holding her gently. Rubbing her back a little, you hum a soothing tune to her, and she slowly calms down. Benji comes over and smiles at her warmly, playing with her hands and rubbing his nose with hers. Josh timidly walks over to Benjamin and pokes his nose over the rail of the crib. "You wanna hold him?" you ask as Benji takes Skye out of your arms. Josh takes him timidly from your arms, and stands stiff for a little while until he gets a feel for him. "Ok, I'm going to talk to Joel now" Benji nods and starts to say something, but you turn around and walk towards the bedroom. Joel is laid out across the bed as you walk in. "Joel, are you ok? Do you need some ice or something?" ^No^ he replied dryly. "I'm sorry about Benji. I didn't think he'd blow up like that" ^He's right you know. I'm just like him^ "Joel, shut up and stop feeling sorry for yourself, your not just like him" He sits up, surprised at the tone of your voice. "You came back" You sit on the edge of the bed gingerly, smoothing the blanket out next to you out of nervousness. ^But I left^ "Yeah, but you came back" ^_____,^......
