QUIZ TIME!!!
"You know Wednesdays would be much better if we didn't have double Potions and double Transfiguration," Rae said to her fellow Gryffindors while eating breakfast on that Wednesday morning. "But something I truly can't wait for is Defense Against the Dark Arts, my favorite class!" Rae exclaimed. Everyone nodded their agreement as they continued to eat. "You know what's even better, Lupin's back, he was definitely my favorite DADA teacher," Seamus piped in. "Rach!" someone yelled from behind Rachel. "Huh?" she said as she turned around to see who was calling her. It was Helen Foster, a Ravenclaw that she had made friends with in the 5 days she was here. "Hey Helen," Rae said, "What's up?" "Here, your notes. Thanks a lot. I owe you big time," Helen said gratefully. "No problemo, and you don't owe me anything," Rae said taking back her notes and putting them in her bag. "I'll see ya in Transfig, bye!" Helen said as she walked back to her Ravenclaw table. Rae turned around to see that Neville was staring after Helen longingly, and she immediately knew that Neville had a thing for her. "You like her don't you Nev?" "Huh? What are you talking about?" Neville said trying to avoid Rachel's eyes while his ears were turning bright red. "Yep, ya like her, time for me to do some matchmaking," Rae said. As she said this she looked at Ron and gave him a knowing smile. "Would you really, Klutz?" Neville asked hopefully. "Of course I would, Nev, anything for a friend," Rae answered. "Thanks a lot, Klutz!" Neville said, practically bouncing up and down. "You have a thing with matchmaking, don't you?" Harry asked, whispering in his ear. "Why, yes I do," she responded give him a quick kiss on the lips. "Time to get a move on," Hermione said, while she stood up, "class should be starting any minute now." Hermione grabbed Rae's arm and picked her up off the bench, which in turn caused a chain reaction, and soon everyone was up for DADA. They all entered the classroom and took their seats. Rachel noticed throughout that class that every time Professor Lupin would call on her he would open his mouth, then quickly shut it, and then say her name. It seemed odd to her. The class went by quickly, much to the dislike of Rae because she was having a lot of fun during the class. She was definitely looking forward to this class after what Lupin had said they would be doing. "Ugh! Double Transfig, thats a great way of ruining my good mood," Harry said walking with everyone else to Transfiguration. "Its okay Harry, its okay, we will make it through this! We can do it!" Rae said throwing her fist up in the air, which caused everyone to let out a small chuckle. Rachel then saw Helen walking a few feet in front of her, "Hey Helen," she said running up to her. "Hey Rach. What ya up to?" "Coming from DADA, Professor Lupin is great, how about you how did Care of Magical Creatures go?" "I didn't get bitten today, which is a first, but it was fun," Helen said chuckling. Rae had already met Hagrid on the weekend and had attended one of his classes on Tuesday. "Ready for Transfiguration?" "Ehh, yeah, but I don't wanna go." "Yeah, neither do I, Helen, neither do I. Hey, do you have a boyfriend?" At this Helen turned a light shade of pink, " Wow, that was totally out of the blue, and no, unlike you I am currently single." "Oh shut up! Do you have your eye on anyone though?" Helen turned an even redder at this, "Uhh.....umm yes," she said barely above a whisper. "And who might this person be?" "Wait a second why would you care?" "Well, if you tell me I can help you," Rae responded slyly. "Oh okay, only because its you." "Yep, its me, Rachel Elizabeth Hawthorne," she said laughing. "Umm well I think umm....Neville Longbottom is cute," she said. Rachel was trying really are to not smile, "Really now?" she said. "You better not tell anyone Rachel, or you're as good as dead!" "Yes, mam" Rae said as she saluted Helen and gave her a knowing smile. "What are you smiling at?" "Oh nothing." Rae said, her smile growing wider. Once Helen and Rachel had reached the classroom, Helen had taken a seat next to one of her Ravenclaw friends, while Rae took her usual Transfiguration seat. Her friends soon came and sat near her in their usual seats. Neville turned around seemingly very nervous, "Soo what happened?" "Well, Nev, I think today is your lucky day," Rae said not wanting to give away the good news just yet. "Why, what happened?" he said getting more and more anxious. "Well, I asked Helen if she had a boyfriend?" "What did she say?" "Well...." "Oh come on Klutz, give the kid a break," Ron said, taking a seat behind her. "Okay, okay she doesn't have a boyfriend." "Really, yes!" Neville said turning around in his seat and facing Professor McGonagall, who was now starting to speak. Rachel kept on getting distracted because every now and then Harry's hand would find its way to hers. This was about the fifth time he had done this, "You know what, that hand of yours is really distracting me," Rae whispered to Harry as they were taking notes. "Well, see that was the point," he said looking back at Rae who had a smile on her face. "So tell me, miss matchmaker, what is it that Helen really said?" "Oh, well shh don't tell okay?" Harry nodded telling her to go on, "Well, she likes him, but I didn't tell her that he likes her, so yeah." "Oh, good for Neville, he will be ecstatic once you tell him." "Yeah, I know," Rae said smiling. This is how the first half of Transfiguration went, Harry and Rachel whispering to each other while taking notes.
Okie...sooo there is a Homecoming on Saturday, and I don't have anything to wear, so if I don't find something to wear I probably won't be going...
"Yes!!! Lunch, I am starving," Harry said as Rae and him were making their way to the Great Hall ahead of everyone else. Rachel was walking with Harry's arm around her and her arm around Harry. "Me either, I want it to go by super slow, so we won't have to go back to Transfiguration as fast." While Harry and Rachel were talking, Ron brushed past them whispering, "I'm gonna do it tonight!" to Rachel. Once Rae had heard this, she immediately let go of Harry and grabbed Ron's arm. "Are you really?" she asked, wanting him to say yes. "Yeah, I thought it through during Transfiguration, and I am gonna do it tonight!" Ron said determinedly "Thats great Ron, I will wish you luck," Rae said smiling and letting go of Ron so he could make his way to lunch. "This is absolutely wonderful!" Rae said her smile growing bigger than ever. Just then Neville came up to Harry and Rachel. "Guess who I was talking to?" he asked with a big goofy smile on his face. "I wonder...." Rae said pretending to ponder, giving Neville a smile that clearly said, 'I know exactly who.' "Harry, do you know who Neville was talking to?" "No, Rae, I don't think I do," Harry said also giving him the same smile. "I was talking to Helen!" Neville said his smile only growing bigger. "Really now?" Harry said. "Yep, and I wasn't nervous or anything. I was really confident. I think I'm gonna ask her out." Neville said. "You know what Neville, I know for a fact that she will say yes," Rae said proud that Neville had gotten the confidence to do this on his own. "Really, Klutz?" "Mhmmm," she answered. "Thanks, Klutz, I don't think I would have been able to do it without you," he said before he started to walk away to the Great Hall himself. Rachel turns to Harry, who is smiling down at her, "You know, you are too good to be true, Rae." "Nah, I'm just being myself." "You really are something special," he said stopping and giving her a passionate kiss and then leaning his forehead against hers, "And you are special yourself, Har," she said as they shared another kiss. Harry and Rachel made their way into the Great Hall and took their seats and immediately started eating. "So, Nev, when are you planning on asking Helen out?" Seamus asked taking a drink of his pumpkin juice. "Umm, I dunno maybe tomorrow, or something," he answered. "Good for you Neville!" Ginny said. The group spent their lunch talking to one another and eating, but soon it was time to depart to the second half of Transfiguration block. Rachel spent the second half of Transfiguration paying half her attention to the teaching and half her attention to the many notes being passed to her by Harry. In Transfiguration, all they basically did was review what they had learned from the years past. Rachel wasn't having that hard of a time doing the spells, getting it right usually on the first or second try. At Blair Academy, Rachel was valedictorian of her class ever since she started there at the age of 11. She, of course, didn't do that all by herself, Matt helped her. Since Matt was a year older, he easily explained everything she didn't get to her. Matt was quite the talented person. He was a magnificent Quidditch player, many professional Quidditch teams were already looking at him as a prospect. He was also valedictorian of his year. It was no wonder everyone thought that him and Rachel were together, they were perfect for each other. Everyone saw it, and everyone knew it. Everyone thought Rachel and Matt were extremely stupid because they weren't together, but they didn't know half of it. Rachel and Matt had a special friendship, a special love that no one would ever understand. Rae knew that she would always have a place for Matt in her heart, he would always be their no matter what. After all, he was her first best friend, first love, first kiss; he was very special to her. They had even promised themselves that if both of them didn't end up with someone, then they would marry themselves. She laughed as she remembered when they made that promise, at the young age of 11. That promise still held true through, even though Harry was with her. She had a feeling that somehow she might lose Harry like she lost everything else she loved. The one thing that was always there was Matt. Rachel quickly focused her attention on the spell she was doing, as Professor McGonagall came around to her side of the room. She turned to look at Harry who was giving her a weird look, "I was just thinking, Har," she said knowing that he wanted to know what she was thinking about. He just nodded in response. The class went by with more review on what was learned in the past years, and McGonagall also gave a preview of what would be learned in this year. Soon, Transfiguration was over, and it was time to go to Potions. Everyone was dreading going to Potions, especially since it would be two hours of Snape non-stop. "This is just wonderful, two hours of Snape. I couldn't have thought of anything better to do with my Wednesday," Dean said walking with everyone to Potions class down in the dungeons. "And you know that Snape is going to give us homework, which will be added on to the work we already have from McGonagall," Harry said already worried about the workload. It was only the first week of school, and they had, had homework every night so far. The group of Gryffindors soon entered the Potions classroom and took their seats. Rachel noticed that Draco was already there and decided to say hi, "Hi," she said putting down her books. "Hi," he said back. Rachel had noticed that in the few days she was here at Hogwarts, Draco hadn't said anything mean to either her or any of her friends. "You ready for the test?" she asked trying to make conversation. She was thankful Harry was talking to Ron at the moment, otherwise he wouldn't approve of this conversation at all. "Yeah, well it doesn't matter anyway now does it," he said smirking at her. She also smirked, "Right, right I forgot about the whole teacher's pet thing," she said playfully. "Oh shut up!" he said back playfully, as well. At this, Professor Snape came into the room. "Okay there is a potion on the blackboard. I want a foot long scroll on information of it, and then I want you and your partner to make this potion. I will grade both the potion and the paper and then average the grade. Start." With that Rachel turned to Draco, "I think this will go much faster if we work together, so uh what do you want to do first?" "How about you get the materials we need for the potion, and I will start looking up information on the potion, so we can write about it." "Well, if you don't mind I think we should do it vice versa because I actually already have a few things we can write on our parchment, so I can get started on that." She looked at Draco expecting a sneer or a glare, but instead she received a weak smile. "Okay, well then you start." The rest of the double period was spent working together finishing the potion and the paper. Draco and Rachel were done first and had worked together well. Draco and Rachel didn't talk much after they were done, each doing something else. Rachel was doing her Transfiguration homework, while Draco was doing his Herbology homework. Soon the double Potions was over, and the Gryffindors were making their way to their common room. As they were walking, Harry turned to Rae, "You seemed to getting along well with Malfoy from where I was sitting," Harry said with a hint of anger in his voice. Rae was immediately offended by this, "Well, for your information, I didn't want to fail the first Potions test, so I decided to work together with Malfoy so I would at least pass," she said as she let go of Harry's hand and walked away from him. Harry quickly grabbed her hand before she could get away, "I'm sorry, you know how it is with Malfoy and me, I dunno what got into me," Harry said immediately regretting what he had said before. He didn't want Rae to be mad at him. Rachel sighed, she couldn't stay angry at Harry for too long, it was impossible. "Its okay Har." Harry grabbed her around the waist and pulled her into a nice hug before giving her a kiss. "Would you two get a room!" Rae heard as she was in the process of kissing Harry, it sounded like Dean. Rae and Harry finally stopped their mini-make-out session coming up for air and started walking to the common room again.
Guess what guys?????!!!!! On Tuesday I am going to see Underoath and Coheed and Cambria!! Woot woot!! Can't wait!
Rachel soon found herself in the common room finishing up her Transfiguration homework, which was almost done. Hermione was also finishing up her homework, and Ginny, Seamus, Dean, and Lavender were indulged in a game of Exploding Snaps. Harry was procrastinating on his homework as he was having a conversation with Neville about Quidditch, while Ron was waiting for Rachel to finish her work, so he could finally play her in wizards' chess. Rachel had heard how good Ron was, and she herself was one of the best chess players at Blair. The one person she couldn't beat though was Dave. She definitely wanted Ron to go up against Dave to see how that worked out. She finished her work, and immediately made her way to Ron. Everybody soon got into the heated chess match between Rachel and Ron. It was definitely a good game, Rachel matched Ron almost all the time wit for wit, but in the end Ron triumphed. "Great game, Klutz. Best game I've played in awhile," he said patting Rae on the back. "Well, I did face the best," she said back. Ron smiled warmly to her, "Okay guys I'm hungry lets head down to dinner," and thats exactly what everyone did. After dinner, Neville had gone off to ask Helen to be his girlfriend, and Ron was about to do the same with Hermione. He came up to Rachel, "Well, I'm gonna do it now, wish me luck," he said sounding a little nervous. "Don't you worry Ron, you'll do fine. Make sure you just follow your heart," Rae said giving Ron an assurance hug before he left. "Thanx, Klutz," he said before leaving and going to talk to Hermione. Rachel watched as Ron had a small conversation with Hermione, and then both of them left through the portrait hole. She smiled and prayed that Ron wouldn't become too nervous, and that everything would go well. Rachel was now bored. Harry was doing his homework, and she had no one to talk to. She came up with an idea and said, "Accio Rachel's IPOD and acoustic guitar," her guitar and IPOD came flying to her and she grabbed them. Harry looked up from his homework, "And where are you going?" "I'm just gonna wonder, find a place to play, you know?" "Do you want my cloak and the map, wait I'll go with you," he said liking the idea of spending time with her. "No, its okay Harry, you need to do your homework. I'll take the cloak and map though, thanks," she said as she started walking up to the boys' dormitories. She quickly found the map and the cloak and made her way down the stairs. She gave Harry a nice, sweet kiss goodbye and left to wonder around Hogwarts. After wondering around the school for about fifteen minutes, she found a secret passage. She checked the map and saw that it led to the Hogwarts roof, or more precisely one of the many roofs of Hogwarts. She made her way to the top of the spiraling staircase, and set foot on the roof. It wasn't that cold outside for a September day; it was actually just perfect weather. She decided to sit down and started playing her acoustic.
Hey Thanksgiving is coming up soon...that means a 4 day weekend which means more quizzes for you all!!
Draco Malfoy awoke in his Slytherin dormitory at 7:00 AM sharp. Ever since last year, he had asked for his own room in the dormitory, so he could be left alone, and he had gotten it because of his father's connection. He was terribly grateful for this because he didn't like being followed around by his fellow Slytherins, especially Crabbe and Goyle. He had had that same dream again, the one dream with Rachel in it. He had, had this dream ever since that day on the Hogwarts Express. He had been watching her ever since, her every move. She was extremely different from any other girl he had ever met. Well, first of all she was the most beautiful girl he had seen ever. Her hair moved perfectly with her, and she had a great body. She wasn't model thin or incredibly fat, just in between like a normal person should be. He also noticed that she was in shape, 'probably from the Quidditch.' The thing that attracted him most to her was definitely her eyes. He thought he could stare in them all day long. She had a different personality, as well. She wasn't a perky girly-girl, but she wasn't a complete tom-boy either. She wasn't a dumb girl, nor was she a book-worm. She wasn't an incredible bitch, but at the same time she wasn't the nicest person in the world. Draco thought she was perfect. Draco made his way down to breakfast, not paying attention to the blabbering of Millicent, but rather thinking about Rachel. She even liked the same music as him, it was so apparent. He found a seat in the middle of table, where he could see the whole Great Hall, and tried to find her. It was easy to spot her, with the tips of her hair dyed red and her many piercings. He wanted to get something pierced, but his father wouldn't let him, 'It was too muggle for a Malfoy' was what Lucius Malfoy had to say. Once he had spotted her, a genuine smile came upon his face, she always had a way of doing that to him. Then he saw something that made his smile start to fade, she had just kissed Potter. He was hating Potter more and more for this, the one time he finds someone he might actually be able to talk to, instead of put up his "Slytherin Prince" act, she has to be taken. The day he found out that they were together, he was royally pissed. He had gone around the school and hexed at least three first years, which were getting on his nerves for just walking. For Rachel, he decided not to bother with the Weasel, Scarhead, and Know-It-All; he didn't want her to assume things about him like everyone else did. It wasn't like he was being nice to them; he was just not instigating things with them. Breakfast was soon over, and Draco had to now act like the bastard he was taught to act like. He went through Herbology and Divination being his "normal" Draco self, until it was time for lunch. He spotted Rachel sitting at the Gryffindor table laughing, for some reason this made Draco soften. He was quickly shaken out of it once some of his "friends" started talking to him. It was soon time to go to Charms, and Draco made his way their, forgetting Rachel for a moment. Charms went by like it normally did for Draco, until it was time to go to Potions. Draco had started to love Potions class, as well as Care of Magical Creatures and History of Magic, and there was one reason for that, Rachel. He had those three classes with her, and he was lucky enough to have her as his partner in Potions. He entered the Potions classroom and saw Rachel wasn't there yet. Soon enough, he heard the voice of Scarhead and turned around to see Rachel walking in with all of her Gryffindor friends. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw her walking toward him, "Hi," she said. He loved her voice, it was so angelic, "Hi," he said back. Soon they started talking less awkwardly, they even laughed a little. Draco loved her laugh. During the class as they were working on the potion and paper, he noticed how she was extremely smart, but didnt seem like a bookworm at all. They had finished their work first, and Draco decided to do his Herbology homework. He wasn't really paying attention to his homework, more to the way Rachel's hair covered her face when she was writing and to the scent of her hair. It smelled like vanilla, and it was truly intoxicating. Draco almost got lost in the scent, until Professor Snape snapped him out of it because he was giving out homework. Draco soon found himself at dinner, staring in the general direction of the Gryffindor table like he always would. He was so entranced by her, it was amazing. She made him forget all his troubles. Draco sighed as he was dragged up to the common room by Pansy. He stayed there for about twenty minutes, until he couldn't take it anymore. He decided to go to his secret place, which was one of the many Hogwarts' roofs. He had found it one day in his third year while wondering around and had gone there ever since just to think. He made his way to the secret entrance that he knew so well. He climbed up the stairs and stepped foot onto the roof. He looked around seeing Rachel sitting there with her acoustic guitar and her IPOD. Draco gasped, she looked even more beautiful in the night.
My report card is coming on Monday night!! Agh!! Well, I basically know what I'm going to get..but still I'm worried!!!! Ahh!!
Rachel had been sitting on the roof listening to her IPOD and decided she would play a little now. She thought of a song that described her feeling at the moment and started strumming the beginnings of the song...."We've got to get better," I said, "It's all in your head." We could live through these letters or forget it all together See the months they don't matter it's the days I can't take When the hours move to minutes and I'm seconds away Just ask the question come untie the knot Say you won't care Say you won't care Retrace the steps as if we forgot Say you won't care Say you won't care Try to avoid it but there's not a doubt And there's one thing I can do nothing about, When it was time for the next part to be sung, she heard another voice singing it. She turned around and noticed Draco standing there singing the song, so she decided to keep on playing on her acoustic. When all that we need is just a reaction It's too much to ask for when there's no attraction anymore If chasing our dreams is just a distraction I want to remember but I know that I can't go back Just ask the question come untie the knot Say you won't care Say you won't care Retrace the steps as if we forgot Say you won't care Say you won't care Try to avoid it but there's not a doubt There's one thing I can do nothing There's one thing I can do nothing There's one thing I can do nothing about. Just ask the question come untie the knot Say you won't care Say you won't care Retrace the steps as if we forgot Say you won't care Say you won't care Try to avoid it (try to avoid it) but there's not a doubt And there's one thing I can do nothing There's one thing I can do nothing There's one thing I can do nothing about. Draco and Rachel had finished out the song singing it as a duet. "New American Classic, its a great song," Draco said making his way over to where Rachel was sitting. "Yeah, one of my favs, you have a good voice, by the way," Rae said feeling just a tad odd for talking with Draco now. "Me, have a good voice are you kidding me? I am the one who should be complimenting you, you have an absolutely beautiful voice," Rae blushed as he said this. "Wait a second, what are you doing here?" "I should be asking you the same thing, Rachel." "Well, I found this place while wondering around the school, you?" "Found it during my third year here, been up here ever since, you know just to think." "Yeah, its beautiful up here. I love looking at the stars." "Yeah, same here. You can play the guitar?" "Yep, I have four, two acoustics and two electric basses." "Always wanted to learn, but father won't let me, it being a muggle thing and all." "Father," Rae said with a sort of scoff. Draco was immediately dismayed, he shouldn't have mentioned 'father' at all. "Look, I don't know what you've heard about my father" before Draco could continue Rae had already interrupted her. "Your father killed my parents if you didn't know already, so I don't have to hear anything about him to know what an evil bastard he is. He killed my parents right in front of my own eyes! When I was four years old at that!" Draco was in complete shock, and it was evident on his face. He didn't know about this at all, and he really felt bad now. Rachel most likely hated him now. "Yeah, I bet that father of yours didn't tell you that, did he? Bloody bastard, you know I don't even know why I'm talking to you now. You're probably here to try to make me trust you and then kill me or something or take me to Voldemort so he can get to Dumbledore. Dumbledore, hmmph, what a disgrace of an uncle!" Rachel didn't care at the moment that she had just said that she was related to Dumbledore when she was told not to. She was way too pissed to be thinking straight. Draco didn't know what to say, but he was highly offended about that comment towards him," What is it with people automatically assuming that I am going to follow in the footsteps of my father huh? Because I am not, nor do I want to. I don't want to be a bloody Death Eater, I'm never going to bow down to someone like the 'Dark Lord!' I don't even agree with anything he or my father stands for. I've been taught to act like an inconsiderate git all my life, and thats not how I wanna do anything! I hate acting like something I'm not!" Rachel was significantly taken back by that. Draco calmed down a little, "Look, I am not my father nor do I ever want to be," he said looking up at the night sky. "Then why do you do it?" she asked after a long silence. "Huh?" "If you don't want to be your father, then why are you the way you are?" "I'm a bloody coward thats why. Rachel have you ever experienced the Crucio curse?" Rachel looked Draco straight in the eye, "No.....you....he....he did that?" she asked in total disbelief. Draco let his eyes fall to his hands, "Yes," he replied. This was the first time he had revealed this to anyone. He suddenly felt himself being wrapped in a hug by Rachel. Rachel immediately let go once she figured out what she was doing, "Sorry," she said looking down at her hands, as well. "Its okay," he said even though he didn't want her to let go. It felt so right being wrapped in her arms. "How many times?" Rae asked. "Only about five. He usually just threatens me. The only reason he would actually go though would it would be if I actually stand up to him." Draco finished, surprised at how easily the words flowed out of his mouth. "You probably think that this is just an act to try to get to you. I mean I can easily kidnap you and take you to Voldemort right now, but look Rachel," he said looking straight at her, "I'm not that kind of person." For some reason Rachel believed him, for some reason she trusted him at that point in time, but she was having her doubts. "I can't trust you that easily, you know that right?" she said quietly. "Well, thats the obvious," Draco said causing Rachel to let out a chuckle. They both stared up at the night sky for a little while, until Draco spoke again, "What songs do you have on there?" he said pointing to her IPOD. "Oh, it's magical, so basically everything," she said grabbing one of the ear parts and giving it to him and taking the other on and putting it in her own ear. "Yeah, I have one like that too," Draco said also putting the earpiece in his ear. Rachel picked a random song and put it on. "Ahh, 'The Melting Point of Wax.' I like that song, Thrice is a good band," Draco said. Rachel nodded, "My favorite band. So you listen to this stuff?" "Yeah, I try to at least, my father won't let me in his presence, but I do. I have always wanted to go to a show, but I wasn't allowed to." "You haven't been to a show?!" "Nope, but I always wanted to." "You have so missed out. Shows Rock!! Last one I went to was back in the beginning of June, I went to see Head Automatica." "Head Automatica, wow, they are really good." "Yeah, I know." "By the way, I like your piercings." "Thanx. I am planning on getting my tongue done, but I'm still thinking about it though." "I wanna get my lip pierced, but you know the whole father being a muggle hating bastard sort of makes it impossible." "Draco," he looked up as he heard Rachel said his name, "why don't you just leave?" "Where would I go?" "I'm sure someone would help." "Who, Rachel, who?" "Someone, you have to tell someone." "I'm telling you, and I think that, that's enough." "Tell, Dumbledore. Even though, I don't like him that much. He would help anyone who is in need. Draco, he would help you." "I don't think anyone would be able to protect me from my father and Voldemort." "Why would Voldemort be after you?" "Rachel, I am promised to be a Death Eater. I am promised to Voldemort. You know I have met him." Rachel was scared for both herself and Draco. "He scares me to death. He made me promise my allegiance to him. Rachel, I am way too much of a coward to let him be angry at me." "You.....you saw him?" "It was horrible, Rachel. He is so evil." Rachel sighed, "I''m sorry Draco." "For what?" "For assuming you were an asshole. You really are full of surprises, how come you don't show this side to anyone?" "Same reason for why I do most of the things I do." Rachel let out a small laugh. "I still think you should get help from someone." "All I need is someone to talk to, and I will be fine. Don't worry about me." "Well, then I am here for you to talk to okay?" "Okay." "Rachel, how is this going to work out?" "What do you mean?" "I'm a Slytherin, you are a Gryffindor. We aren't even supposed to converse, yet we are becoming friends." "I don't care what anyone else thinks, I, Rachel Elizabeth Hawthorne, am your friend, and you, Draco Malfoy, are mine. If you want to be that is." "Of course I do, but you know I'm gonna have to put up an act and all when we are together." "Yeah, I know. It's okay." "Yeah, my fellow Slytherins aren't going to be happy if they see us together." "And you think my fellow Gryffindors will be happy. I know for a fact I am going to have to explain this somehow." "How bout we keep this a little secret between us. How about that?" "Sure. It will be our little secret."
I still have homework to do...you all do know that right!!!
Rachel and Draco continued talking after this on top of the roof, while listening to the IPOD. Draco and Rachel shared different things about their lives. They stayed up there talking for about two hours. Finally, both of them decided to head off in their separate directions. Draco headed to his common room, reflecting on the events that just took place. He had just become friends with Rachel. He was so glad he had found a friend in her and an actual friend at that. This was his first friend ever, and he was happy it was her. She seemed to understand him so well. He laid down in his bed that night thinking about how in the last two hours his life had just changed for the better. He finally had someone to talk to. He would make sure that she would trust him. Before he fell asleep, he vowed to himself that he would protect Rachel from Voldemort if it meant his life. He would never let her get hurt, never. Rachel was walking to her common room underneath the invisibility cloak and using the Marauders' Map to make sure there weren't any teachers around. She made it inside the common room and took off her cloak to see that Harry was still up sitting on the couch waiting for her. "Where have you been? I have been worried sick!" Harry said as he got up from the sofa and made his way over to Rachel, engulfing her in a big hug. "I'm sorry, I guess I lost track of the time. I was walking around the school for most of the time, but then I went into the Room of Requirement and just played for awhile," she answered making up a lie rather quickly, but Harry didn't seem to doubt her at all. "Oh okay, well I have some good news for you." "Oh what?" she said glad at the change of subject. "Looks like all your matchmaking paid off. Neville came in here looking ecstatic, him and Helen are now officially dating." Really!!! Oh my God, this is wonderful!!" Rachel said sitting herself next to Harry in front of the fire on the couch. "One more thing, Ron and Hermione are also finally together!" "Finally!!! Yay, I'm so happy for them!" "Yes, and its all thanks to you Rae!" Harry said giving her a kiss. Soon after this, Rachel found herself in Harry's arms as he was fast asleep on the couch, and she was still up thinking about the night's events. Draco Malfoy was now her friend. The son of the man who killed her parents was now her friend. She was herself shocked at this, but couldn't help smiling. She could talk to him easily, for some reason Draco reminded her of Matt. She talked to Matt as easily as she did to Draco tonight, it was uncanny, but she didn't trust him yet. For all she knew, this could all be a trap to get her to Voldemort, and she wouldn't be falling for any trap. She would wait and see if she could really trust him, but for now she did consider him a friend. She couldn't tell anyone about this just yet, knowing that it would cause a lot of trouble. She didn't like keeping secrets from Ron, Hermione, and Harry especially, but she knew she had to right now. She slowly fell asleep. Little did Draco and Rachel know that those two hours in which they had talked would change their lives forever. Their newly formed friendship would be one that in later times would help both of them in and out of rough times. They had just formed one of the strongest friendships that either would ever form again.
