January Rain - Draco Malfoy Series [Part 32]

Created by nastiixthoughtsz on Friday, March 10, 2006

Later, in the girls' changing room, as you showered off the considerable sweat you'd worked up, you were still wondering about it.

Last night, Draco had gone back into the common room soon after ya'll worked things out (to a point), mostly because you'd remembered he was half-naked, and that particular hallway wasn't exactly heated, and after a brief make-out session, you'd shoved him back into his common room, and gone straight to bed, exhausted from Quidditch try-outs. It had warranted little time to delve further into the subject with him, though you were definitely curious, and also a bit concerned.

You shut off the water and stepped out of the stall, reaching for a towel and because modesty had never been an issue (despite the two-dozen other girls there), you used it to wrap your hair, then grabbed another towel for your body, and padded over to where you left your clothes.

To your shock, everything had been taken. Your wand, your uniform and robes were gone, as were all your textbooks.

You knew where they were, of course. You only had to turn around to see Pansy and her gaggle of friends sniggering behind their hands at you.

You weren't angry, however. In fact, you were surprisingly calm. Even having your privacy invaded like that didn't irk you as it normally would have. You just felt weary.

"Parkinson," you said, going over to her. "Are you really bloody serious?"

Pansy sniggered again and gave you her habitual sneer. "Not so tough now that you don't have your wand, are you, Jayden?"

You, standing there in only a towel, but managing to look merely exhausted, said, "Not that it matters, but I didn't break your nose with a wand, now did I? Besides, if you actually knew anything about the Jaydens, you'd know I don't need one."

Pansy's eyes narrowed, but she said pompously, "That's ridiculous. You're lying."

You just shook your head, pulling the towel out of your hair tiredly, giving it a half-hearted rub. "Believe what you like. Are you going to give me back my clothes?"

Pansy turned up her nose, looking ridiculous with the white bandage over it. "Why should I?"

"Right, then." You turned on your bare heel, tossing the hair-towel on a bench, and started for the door.

"Off to tattle to Madam Hooch, are you?"

You ignored her, pushing open the changing room door, and strode off in nothing but the towel, your skin still gleaming from your shower.

You could hear the girls in the room behind you scurry forward to see what you would do, but you no longer cared what they, or even you, did. You knew that everyone were staring at you, jaws agape, but you didn't care about that either.

Hooch looked up and jumped off her chair. "Miss Jayden! What are you doing? Where are your clothes?!"

You paused at the exit and saw Pansy's spitefully glaring face peeking out of the changing room.

You wouldn't sink to her level.

"I let the poor and unfortunate have them, ma'am," You replied, then turned away from Pansy and out the door, but not before you'd caught her insulted expression.

Okay, so you'd sunk a little.
