"What?!" you shouted angrily, you weren't interested in any of these guys! And you had just met them! It's not like you were a whore or something.

She laughed slightly and shook her head. "The whole wanting him to walk you to your room, being oh-so-injured when he was around, and Now, you're sneaking down to his room at night. I get it. I might be old, but I'm not blind."
*Mental Scream*
"Miti! That's not what's going on!" [This is so embarrassing! That girl has a dirty mind!] You could feel yourself going red as you glared at her.
"No, no, it's ok. I won't tell your mommy that you have a demon boyfriend. I'll just wait outside until you two are done."

She moved to close the door but you lunged forward and ripped the doorknob out of her reach. "Nothing's going on!" [You freaking pervert! I'm not a whore!]
"Sure, sure," she said dismissively as she rolled her eyes and waver her hand. "You don't have to pretend Lily, hiding your True feelings-"
"Shut up!" you shouted. "I'm going to bed!" You stormed out of the room and ran up the stairs to your own room. You slammed the door shut and kicked over one of your suitcases. You still hadn't unpacked. Well it could wait for morning, so you crawled into bed, still pissy, and went to sleep.

"Hey! Look, I remembered where your room is. Yo! Wake up sleepy head! It's breakfast time!"
"Go away Greg," you muttered, turning over in your sleep. "I'll skip breakfast."
"Hey! It's time to get up!" You felt the blankets pulled away and looked over to see a strange boy with overly gelled hair. You screamed. "Whoa Lily! It's just me!" Yusuke exclaimed as he jumped towards the door. It took you a minute to recognize him as you huddled behind the covers you had pulled back up to your chin.
"Oh Fuck, you mean that whole demon thing wasn't a dream?"
He started laughing at you. "Come on dreamer, you need to eat."
"I don't wanna freaking eat, I wanna stay in bed and sleep, and what's the freaking point of getting me up so goddamn early anyway?" you muttered under you breath as you followed him downstairs and down the left hallway.
so early.... *falls alseep while walking* *walks into wall*
food! Woo! food food food food food!! Score!
*grabled cursing* *flips everybody off* *turns around and goes back to bed*
A few rooms down was a large kitchen with fridge, stove, counters, all that good cooking related stuff and rectangular table with six chairs. Hiei and Kuwabara were currently seated at it, engaged in a glaring contest across the table. You looked around and spotted Kurama at the stove cooking away. [Weirdness, total weirdness with these guys.] Yusuke pushed you into a seat at the head of the table and plopped down in the chair to your right.
"Haha, lil'Lily gets to be the queen today, all sitting at the head of the table," he laughed and poked you with a chopstick.
[Chopsticks? For breakfast?] you thought and looked down at your own plate, sure enough--chopsticks. [Wait, what on Earth are we eating? Japanese food? God I hope it's not sushi, I don't do raw meat.] "Uhh... What's for breakfast?" you asked nervously.

In response Kurama began setting down plates on the table, bowls of rice first, then what looked like some kinds of soup, and more stuff you couldn't identify and perhaps didn't want to. "Hope you like it." He smiled brightly and sat down as well; you managed a slightly strained grin and returned to staring at the things before you. Everyone else began to dig in and you picked up your chopsticks and fiddled around with them. Yusuke was half done and you hadn't even begun to pick at this strange assortment of food, food you would have to eat-in front of all of them. You felt your stomach twisting and turning and knew there was no way you were getting anything down.
"Aren't you hungry Miss Lily?" You glanced to your left and tensed up even more. The red-head looked concerned and you really didn't want to offend him.
"Uhhhh...well...um...not really," you squeaked. "I'm sorry! I forgot something upstairs, excuse me!" You pushed back the chair quickly and bolted from the room. [Shit, now what do I do?] You placed a hand over your rumbling stomach and slowed to a leisurely stroll down the hallway. "Maybe I'll find food magically sitting out someplace," you muttered as you glanced into an empty kitchen.
"Deus ex machina to the rescue!" you heard as a hand clamped down on your shoulder. You jerked around to see Megumi smiling down at you. She had a kimono on today, a very flowery purple one and her hair was up in a fancy way. "On duty today in like a hour," she said in response to your look and began steering you back towards the stairs. "I was thinking that you'd probably have some trouble adjusting and would need a woman around in the mornings to help out. I'm normally up pretty early: walk the dog, make some coffee, tease Yura, then off to warning people of imminent disasters. And then I thought a girl like you probably would need some real food in the morning, eh?"
"What's your idea of real food?"
"Bacon! Mmmm, and omelets, sausage, toast slathered with preserves, hot black coffee, potatoes, grits, but if I'm lazy I might settle for cereal."
"You eat grits?!" You eyed her kimono skeptically.
"Hon, it's the uniform, doesn't mean I only eat certain things! Now I'll show you where you can get whatever you want."

She stopped by the stairs and you saw an elevator there for the first time. She pushed the down button and the doors opened automatically. Inside it looked like any other elevator except that there were four main buttons labeled in ten languages, one was "Koenma's Office" while another read "Enma's Office." The other set of buttons were numbered and there was a large red one above all the others. Megumi pushed the big red button and while holding it said: "Main Cafeteria." There was a jolt and you felt yourself zooming sideways then suddenly the elevator began dropping. It kept gaining speed until you were ready to scream, but Megumi seemed completely unflustered. Suddenly the mad contraption ground to a halt and the doors opened. You threw yourself out and gasped in surprise. You were standing in a massive room filled with round tables that could seat about ten people, and long ones like in the school cafeteria, there were also those horrible little plastic chairs, but the scale was massive. There must have been at least a thousand people in the room. Some were ogres in their loin cloths, some were dressed in kimono like Megumi, there were also several dressed completely in black. "Spies," she whispered in your ear as you passed a group who were eating silently at one of the round tables. There were also many, mostly men, in a different uniform which you thought looked like something out of the weird 80's, with big shoulder pads and tapered grey pants. "SDF, spirit defense forces. They're the elite soldiers who mostly monitor the demon world, they're also in charge of protecting Spirit World royalty."
"Koenma right?"
"Yuppers. You're quick kiddo." She had been steering you towards a line of people that snaked from one end of the massive cafeteria where the food was positioned. Some how, by chatting, wiggling, and nudging, Megumi managed to work you up through the line very quickly. You were stopped behind some SDF guys who seemed to be recounting some lurid story when she clamped her hands over your ears and squealed: "George! There are children present!"
The man who'd been talking turned around and glanced at you in surprise. "Sorry Miss Megumi! Please, go ahead of us." You could feel her smirking as she pushed you even farther ahead. "Oh, and tell Miti I send my regards," he added. Megumi stiffened and looked back suspiciously. His tone and the smile on his face also made you suspicious.
"You watch out Georges, or you'll be in trouble with Koenma!"

Then you were in front of the food, it was laid out in long tables, table upon table, some with hot plates, some with cold. There was everything imaginable, not just breakfast food. The ogre in front of you was forking steaks onto his heaping pile of curry. A girl was balancing a bowl of fruit on her head as she fixed a hoagie and held a bowl of wonton soup. You grabbed some food and followed after Megumi as she got her coffee and went to find somewhere to sit.

"Megumi! Bring the human over here!" some girls shouted and she headed in their direction. "Oh isn't she just the cutest!" "So young!" "Oh what a lovely aura! She's all peachy." You were hugged, your cheeks were pinched and you were poked as you were pushed into a chair. "What an adorable little figure!" "I wish I had hair like that!" You were blushing and not making eye contact.

"Now let her be girls! She just arrived yesterday and has been placed with the Spirit Detectives temporarily." They all settled down and let you eat while keeping up a low buzz of gossip and chitchat. "Last night?" "Uh-huh, in front of everybody too!" "She's going way overboard!" "Well, what would you expect from such a spoiled brat?" "Ashley! So rude, she's been nice to us!" "I meant him." "Oh!" Laughter broke out around the table and you glanced up, you had no idea who there were talking about but it sounded like the latest news, something juicy and scandalous too.
[And to think the guys are all up there by themselves. I wonder if they're in on any of the stuff that goes on around here?]
"Spirit Detectives make us uncomfortable," one of the girls with bright pink hair said to you knowingly. "Koenma normally keeps them to themselves and that's fine. See, we don't normally like to deal with humans and demons on our off-hours."
"Yeah, they remind us too much of work," a strawberry blonde with pigtails remarked as she sipped a soda. "Speaking of which I'm due back in Europe in twenty minutes!" She got up quickly and waved goodbye before rushing off.

"Umm, my cue too," Megumi glanced at a pocket watch she'd pulled from her obi. "Come on Lily-dear, I'll take you back up since it looks like you're done."
You followed her back to the elevator, tossing a muffin in the air. The doors opened and just as you were about to step in Koenma stepped out. "Whoa! Shorty!" you exclaimed in surprise. He started and squinted at you.
"Miss Lily? How'd you get down here? Oh, Megumi," he said as she waved from behind you. "You just ate? That's good, very good! You can start training as soon as you get dressed." He waddled past you and you frowned.
[Get dressed?]
Megumi snickered and shoved you into the elevator just as you realized that you'd been walking around in pj's and socks. [Fuck, everybody saw my Spongebob pants.] You looked down. [And my fuzzy pink socks. Oh gawd I am So branded a girly girl.] You stepped out of the elevator slightly disoriented until Megumi walked into the room right across from you. [Oh! Ok, so that's her room, then Miti's, then down there is mine!] You walked back to your room and looked around. Your bags were everywhere, half of one was spilled across the floor from when you'd dug out your pj's. [This will have to wait till later,] you thought as you dragged out a pair of shorts, sports bra and t-shirt. When you were dressed you stepped out into the chilly hall and glanced around. [Koenma told me to train, but not who to train with. Dobu and Megumi made it sound like Miti's supposed to be teaching me, so I'll try her. I can't face the guys after breakfast.]

You walked up to the door and knocked. "Ow!" You pulled your hand back immediately, it was solid metal, not something to be hit very hard. There was a doorbell to the right and you tried ringing it. There was no answer so you just kept pushing it, over and over again. The door swung open and you nearly fell into the room and onto Miti who was kinda standing behind it. "Ready to go?" you asked the bloodshot-eyed demon, who's long hair was braided and messy looking. She dropped to a sitting position and repeated your words slowly while blinking like crazy and rubbing her head. [Whoa, she must have been Out! Deep sleep.] "Oh, not a morning person I see, huh Miti? You sure look like Hell!" You helped her up and led her towards the bed. "Koenma said it was time for me to do some more training, and I wasn't sure, so I thought you-" She grunted and collapsed onto the bed.
You thought she'd passed out but she turned her head to look at you. "He meant with those damn boys. Come back in four or more hours. If I'm not here," she yawned and scratched her head. "I'll be in my office, we'll do...weapons."
"Seriously? Wicked cooll!" [Finally! A weapon for some major smiting! Muwahahaha!] you bounced to the door and pulled it shut as you left the room only then realizing that you hadn't actually gotten a look around. [Damn, I'll have to make sure to check it out next time. It sure seems like she was on a bender last night! Wonder if the kitty hits the sauce haha.]

"Hey Lily!" You looked down the stairs to see Yusuke standing on the floor below, looking aggravated. "Where the hell'd you go? We checked your room like five times! You disappeared like an hour ago!"
"Heh, uhh Hi Yusuke, look I'm dressed now! Ready to go!"
He seemed mollified. "All right, Kurama's almost done the dishes so you're not late, come on!" You trotted down the stairs and jumped next to him.
"So what're we gonna do today? I'm sorry I wasn't very good yesterday, but there was just way too much happening at once."
"Ah that's ok!" He said as he slapped you on the back hard enough to make your knees buckle. "Hey Kuwabara! I found her!" Kuwabara came running down the hallway looking relieved.
"I thought you were lost again! And then the shrimp said 'good riddance' so I started getting worried Miss Lily! Where'd you go?"
"Uhh, well I ran into Megumi...and she, uh, wanted to talk."
You felt the hair along the back of you neck rising and turned to glance back. Hiei was standing some ways down the hall glaring at you hatefully. [Don't rise to it Lily, it's what he wants,] you told yourself. You smiled and waved happily. "Hiya Hiei!" He looked sour and turned and started walking away. Kurama came down the hall a minute later and you all walked down to the training arena.

"Okay Lily, so we're gonna teach you to block!"
"Uh, right," you said, your breakfast was beginning to protest your involvement in this training. "So just watch Kuwabara."
Yusuke swung and punched his friend in the face. His friend then went flying across the mat.
"Whoops. Hey Kuwabara! Try and block you idiot!"
"Urameshi! Warn me when you're gonna start!"
"Oaf," Hiei muttered. "Kurama, show her how to block."
Kurama stepped forward and Yusuke punched at him. He put his arm up to deflect Yusuke's blow and threw his own punch.
"Uhhh......right."
"Got it Lily? Let's go!" Yusuke threw his next punch at you and you didn't move fast enough. He was holding back but you still landed flat on your back.
"Urameshi! Next time make sure she's ready!"
"Why don't you try then since you know exactly what I'm doing wrong?!"
"I can't hit a girl! I won't even throw punches at one who can't block! It's not right."

hmm he seems to have figured out my evil plot to kill them all accidentaly during fights... i must rethink things
"Unfortunately Kuwabara, our opponents at the tournament will not have your morals," Kurama remarked.
"All right! I'm ready now Yusuke!" you said, facing him with your hands up.
"You sure Lily?"
"Yes! Now go!"
He threw another punch and you put your arm up like Kurama, but it really hurt and you stepped back. "Lily! You have to attack when you block or else your opponent just keeps coming!"
"Heh, right, sorry Yusuke. I'll try to remember."
You did remember, but it was such a strain just to block in time that you barely could get your other hand up before he struck again. "Maybe we should try something else," he said at last as you rubbed the backs of your sore arms. "Maybe something other than blocking punches. Hey, you can jump pretty good Lily, how 'bout trying some dodging!"
"Uh sure, whatever you think Yusuke."
"Hey Kurama, why don't you try her against your rose whip, that'll be good for dodging."
"I'm not sure if Miss Lily is ready-"
"Oh go ahead, it can't hurt!"
[Says you Yusuke,] you thought as you rubbed your arms, you could already see the bruises forming in your skin. [I hope this won't hurt as much!] Kurama took Yusuke's place and pulled something out of his hair. [Weirdness, wait, is that a flower? O.o These are some pretty strange guys.] With a flick of his hands the rose became a whip and Kurama stood looking at you. "Please try to avoid getting hit by these strikes Miss Lily."
[Yeah, cause you know, I really actually want to get my skin sliced and diced, so I wouldn't think to move without you telling me to.] "Sure Kurama!" You bent your knees and watched him carefully. He flicked his wrist and the whip came flying at you. You threw yourself out of the way and landed flat on your stomach. "Ow," you groaned as you pushed yourself up. [Landed right on the ole boobs there. Remind me never to dive like that again. That belly flop into the pool two weeks ago shoulda taught me.]
"Are you all right Miss Lily?"
"Yeah, just landed bad," you laughed slightly and waved away Kuwabara's hand as Kurama looked at you like he was ready to quit. "I'll try to think before I jump next time."
"If you're sure you want to continue."
"Yeah, go ahead." [I ain't no pussy, boy. I don't run from a challenge.] Hiei snorted from behind you. (Didn't I tell you to leave my thoughts alone?!) (Oh shut up and dodge.) You did just that as the whip cracked at you again, but you weren't quick enough and it cut across your ankle. "mommy," you squeaked as you felt thorns cut into your skin. You limped to a stop and looked down. Blood was gushing from the cut and running down all over your sneakers. "Ah! My shoes!" You dropped down immediately and pulled them off. "Quick where's water?!"
"Water?" Yusuke asked.
"For my shoes! They're gonna get fucking stained! Blood's such a bitch to get out once it dries."
He shook his head and looked at the others with a devastated expression that plainly said "We're screwed." You remembered seeing a bathroom on your way in and got up and started power-limping towards the doors.
"Lily! Where are you going?"
"For water! Damnit, I told you!" You glanced at the shoe in your hand. "I'll need soap too." The limping was getting tiring so you just ran, ignoring the pain in your leg.
"Well, at least she can run while injured," Yusuke remarked as you bolted out of the door. "I knew girls obsessed over their clothes, but man, a pair of old sneakers?"
"Maybe they have some deep sentimental value."
"Don't be an idiot Kuwabara! They're sneakers."

You tripped into the bathroom, leaving a trail of blood behind you and stumbled over to the sink. You immediately turned on the tap and started trying to wash off the blood, scrub it out, but without smudging the marker that covered half the shoe. You felt like crying when some of the blue started to run and rushed to blot it quickly. You had managed to get most of the blood off, but to get all of it you'd have to sacrifice some of the decorations, which was not about to happen. "Allie would die if she knew I messed these up!" you exclaimed as you took the other one off as well and held it up to inspect it.
The door banged open and you jumped as Hiei came in. "You're bleeding all over the place you idiot! What kind of fool tends to their clothes before their wounds?"
"A kind like me I guess," you snapped back and glanced down at your foot. "Well, it's not bleeding as much now, so there!"
"Idiot!" He grabbed you by the arm and dragged you back into the arena as you clutched your shoes. You shoved you towards Yusuke and glowered menacingly. "The girl" he was suppressing more insulting words, "was washing her shoes in the bathroom."
"Man I can't believe you actually went into the girl's room!" Kuwabara said. "So, what did it look like?"
"A bathroom."
Yusuke had made you sit down and Kurama was wrapping your ankle in gauze as you clutched your sneakers and looked around suspiciously. "Yo lil'Lily, why are you so obsessive over those things?"
"Allie gave them to me. We swore a solemn oath of friendship and exchanged sneakers at summer camp. We signed 'em too!" You held up the sneakers so he could see the swirling designs that when the sneakers were held together spelled out "ALLIE". "And we've both kept 'em for four years! She's got big feet so I only really fit these starting last year, and she could only squeeze her feet into mine the first year, so now she keeps them on a shelf in her room."
"You--exchanged sneakers? And you wear them?"
"Yeah. What? What's that look?!"
"Oh nothing," he muttered, standing up and walking away.
"It's a very nice gesture," Kurama said. "But what are you going to do about practice?"
"Well for now I can run around in my socks, or barefoot. And it's not like I don't have other sneakers. I only brought two other pairs with me though."
He keeled over and the other boys made some weird noises. "You brought two more pairs of sneakers?! You have More than Three pairs of Sneakers?!"
You looked back at Yusuke, "Yeah, I have my sk8r shoes, though they're kinda high-tops, and my PE sneakers, and these, and then some running shoes my mom got my in hopes that I'd run. But I don't run, heh. Hey! I know plenty of guys with mre pairs of shoes than me so don't make faces Urameshi!"
He looked startled that you'd picked up on his family name and dropped the shoe issue.

They made you try dodging some more but your ankle just got worse until you completely fell over while trying to jump out of the way and couldn't put anymore weight on it. As they were trying to decided what to do a girl in a pink kimono with light blue hair and a friendly smile came bouncing over. "Oh my gosh! Is this Miss Lily? I've heard so much about you! I'm so glad I finally get to meet you!" She exclaimed as she shook your hand.
"Hi, I'm, uh, Lily, like you know already."
"You Are just the cutest thing!" she squealed as she sat down in front of you. "I'm Botan! The grim reaper, ferry woman of the dead! Guider of souls! And Yusuke's-"
"Pain in the ass," muttered Yusuke. "Can't you see we're training here Botan?"
"Behave yourself Yusuke or I'll tell Keiko that you're looking at other girls!"
"You wouldn't dare!"
"So Yusuke's got a girlfriend?" [That's two down, two to go.]
He started turning red as Botan turned back to you. "Oh yes! Her name's Keiko! I wonder when you'll get to meet her! She's the sweetest thing! What happened to your ankle?" You could virtually see the exclamation points after each of her statements.
Yusuke and Kurama started trying to explain at the same time but you talked right over them. "I was clumsy and I didn't get out of the way when I was supposed to." They all looked at you in shock.
"Miss Lily-"
But Botan was already talking again. "Oh that's terrible! Here let me help you!" She leaned down and held her hands over your ankle, a light glowed out of the and you could feel your skin knitting back together.
Onwards and Resultswards for the rest of my last quiz before vacation!

"Oh wow Botan! You're the best! Thanks so much!"
She grinned and shook her head. "It's nothing. You're just as nice as little-Nur said."
"Pink hair and a sari?"
"Oh you remember! And you only met her this morning! You'll have to have lunch with me, the girls will be so happy to see you again."
"Again?" Yusuke asked.
"Yeah, they all saw Miss Lily at breakfast this morning!" You gulped. "Megumi brought her down to show her off." You breathed a sigh of relief. You tried not to make eye contact as you knew the guys were all staring at you. "Speaking of lunch, its about that time!" Botan grabbed your hand and dragged you up. "Come on Lily-dear! They have the best fried duck- oh and you guys can come too."

They declined and decided to keep training. Botan dragged you down hall after hall, up ramps and down flights of stairs until you reached the cafeteria once more. You followed her around through the changing crowd, not recognizing a single person. When you sat down at a table full of girls, very girly girls, you were more than a little freaked out, especially when they all squealed over you and pinched your checks while pulling your hair. You managed to escape after you wolfed down your food and hurried towards the elevator. There was a line and you waited quietly, still in your socks, still holding your shoes tucked under an arm.

After Lily left the guys went back to practicing with each other, but it didn't last very long. A silent consensus seemed to have agreed to stop for now when they all gradually stopped fighting and gathered around. "Well the way I see it you three are in trouble," Yusuke said as he stepped over a splash of blood.
"What do you mean Urameshi? We're all in trouble if Lily can't fight! We're all on the team."
"Oh, I wasn't even talking about that. I mean I'm sure we'll do fine, we're all strong enough to make up for her, so all we have to do it keep her from getting killed each round, she doesn't have to win. I'm talking about the fact that she's a girl, and we're all guys. Hell I have Keiko and I see her all the time, she's always nagging and harassing me, and popping up here, and one chick is quite enough. So it's you three in trouble."
"Urameshi! How can you say such things! I'll never turn my heart away from Yukina-san," his eyes got all big and glazed over. "We are bound by love!"
"I dunno Kuwabara, you were getting pretty sweet on Lily there!"
"Was not!" He jumped at the smaller boy and they fell over, wrestling and smacking at each other.
"Hn, you two are idiots. The girl is a baka, incompetent, weak, and slightly psychotic. No one in their right mind would wish to become attached to that fool."
"Hiei, that was unnecessarily cruel. Anyway you are all overlooking the fact that Lily-san might already be attached. You did tell us, did you not Yusuke, that she referred to you as Greg this morning?"
"Oh, yeah, right. But still, she's not near any other guys, so she'll probably fall for one of us at least. I hate to say as the most likely choice that I'll of course have to turn her down.... Wha-"
They all turned to follow Yusuke's gaze towards the doors where Lily had just returned. She was accompanied by a tall and handsome man in an SDF uniform. She gave him a quick hug then started bounding towards them, halfway over she stopped and turned back. "Thanks again Georges! I really appreciate it! And if you don't get transferred to the pits of Hell you'll just Have to stop by and see me all the time!" He waved back before leaving and Lily bounded the rest of the way over. "Oh my God, I think I'm in love! Georges rocks, and he's so sexy! Did you all hear his hot accent? He's French!"
"..."
