Little Flower (Naruto story..You&Sasuke pairing) Ch.7 - Hiccups

Recap: The Halloween masquerade party ended when Itachi was at the peak of killing Taku. Thanks to Naruto and Sasuke, they in a way distracted him so you could make a run for it with Sakura and Taku. It later turned out that the cops came, which made Itachi run away, so you had the rest of the night to spend with your friends. Although, none of you know whether Itachi will return or not. After Itachi's escape, the five of you, plus Taku, spent the rest of the night together eating candy and talking under the moonlight.
ANNDD Sasuke and I flirted a bit. (Me: I guess that too, if you consider that flirting. :D Too bad it was ruined by Naruto)
Okay.
Once again, you woke up the next morning to the light of the sun that passed through the cracks of your window blinds. You had about seven hours of sleep since you spent Halloween up until about two a.m. The digits on your clock read 9:00. Your thoughts were recollecetd and your dreams were somwhat forgotten the moment you woke up. You remembered the runaway of Itachi and that Taku was somewhere in the building since there wasn't a safe chance for him to stay back at his mansion. You thought about if he would ever go back. But it wasn't a bother to you that Taku would be on school campus more often. He made Sakura happy, and if Sakura was happy, you were too. Your most important thought was.. Sasuke. There was something about him you just couldn't get out of your head. Not just something, everything about him. You blew away the strands of hair that were in your face. "He's a likable guy," You remembered Sakura had once said to you.
You looked lazily and tiredly to Sakura's bed. For the first time in history of your staying at Hidden Leaf High School, Sakura wasn't awake before you. The second you got out of bed, your alarm clock started to beep. You hadn't set it the night before. Sakura then sprang out of bed.
"Good morning, Sakura. Did you set the alarm clock?"
"Yeah," She said gleefully, "Taku wanted to take me out for brunch today."
"Hmm.. That guy really makes you happy, huh?" You teased and smiled.
"Can't say that he doesn't," She smiled in return, "Sasuke makes you happy, doesn't he?"
"Well that was off topic..*hic!*" You replied in surprise.
"No it wasn't. Well sorry, maybe that's just me. I'm in a good mood today. And it looks like you have the hiccups." Sakura got out of bed, fixed it, and went to the bathroom to ready herself for Taku without saying another word to you. After about an hour sitting around, making yourself a quick brunch of cereal, and watching TV, Sakura came out dressed and pretty as usual.
"Looks great," You complimented... Then you hiccuped again. Sakura smirked at it.
"Thanks!" She said, "Well I'm off now, I think I'm already late. See ya later Kohana!" With that she grabbed her keys and left.
It was very rarely that you would be alone in your dorm. It gets very boring too. What was there to do other than watch TV and listen to yourself hiccup for so long? Well, after watching another one of your 30-minute shows on TV, you decided you became very bored. There was no homework assigned for you at the moment, either that or you were already finished with everything. Maybe I should see what Naruto and Sasuke are doing. You thought. You felt yourself hiccup once more as your body jumped. You turned off the TV, put your unkempt bed head hair into a ponytail, and left your dorm room. When you reached Naruto and Sasuke's door you knocked politely. When Naruto opened it, you hiccuped loudly once again.
"Good morning to you too." Naruto joked.
Before you would hiccup again you said, "Good morning. I hate hiccups.."
You looked behind Naruto and into his room. Sasuke wasn't present. Naruto noticed the direction of your eyes and told you, "Sasuke's gone, if you're wondering."
"Oh," Was all you said in reply.
"Well, yeah. You can come in if you want." Naruto stepped out of your way at the door and let you enter. You allowed yourself to sit on Naruto's bed while he sat on Sasuke's. While there was a silence between the two of you, other than your hiccups, you looked around the room and noticed Naruto's half of it was neater than usual.
"You hiccup really loud," Naruto broke the silence.
"Thanks.." You said grimly but sarcastically.
"So.. Why are you here again?" Asked Naruto.
To hang out.. with you and SASUKE. (Me: ^^;)
I'm bored.
To make out. (Naruto: Eheh, not funny.) (Me: Definitely not)
You sighed, "I was bored becuase Sakura's out with Taku again," You paused, realizing if you've made a mistake as to hurting Naruto's feelings. Does he still like Sakura? Then you went on, "So I wanted to see what -*hic!*- you guys were up to. Maybe we could do something?"
Silence.
"What? *hic!* You don't wanna do anything?"
"Well.. about Sasuke," Naruto said more quietly and suspiciously.
"What about Sasuke?"
"He--" Naruto was interrupted by one of your hiccups. You whispered a sorry and let him go on, "He was.. I think he was captured by Itachi."
"What? How?" You were in shock. You had totally forgotten about Itachi until Naruto mentioned his name. But you hiccupped again. Those hiccups were really ruining your day.
"I don't know," Naruto started, "Of course Sasuke was in his bed last night. But in the middle of the night, he disappeared. His bed sheets were still unmade. But he never came back until now. The window was also open, I just closed it."
"So.. Itachi came through the window? We have to get Sasuke back!" You cried.
"It's either that or Sasuke sleepwalks and hasn't woken up yet."
Naruto smirked.
"Wipe that smirk off your face, Naruto. We can't let Itachi take him," You said solemnly. "I told him to switch dorm rooms..I knew this could happen.."
The room grew quiet. Naruto looked at you pleadingly.
"We'll find him." Naruto assured you after a while of silence.
You just brought your knees up to your chest and wrapped your arms around them. You stared at your feet. This was the first time Naruto consoled you. Usually he's teasing round, cracking jokes, or eating ramen.
"So.." Naruto chuckled. Why is he chuckling? His so-called best friend has just been kidnapped by a person who could harm him.
You gave Naruto a disapproving look.
"I lied." Naruto simply said.
"Lied? What do you mean? Lied about what?"
"You like Sasuke, don't you?"
"What? Wait.. Lied about what?" Why does everyone keep asking me that?! You thought to yourself angriliy. And Naruto is not being thoughtful at all!
"You do like him! Ha, that's funny." Naruto was laughing now.
"Naruto, explain to me what's going on!"
"Your hiccups aren't going on anymore." He was right. You haven't hiccupped since that last time. You realized Naruto was just doing this to make you stop hiccupping. Smart but.. You were really frightened!
"I scared you didn't I? Didn't I, didn't I?" Naruto kept going.
"Naruto shut up!"
"Sorry. But I cured you, and that's what you give me? You tell me to shut up?"
"You scared me!!"
"Exactly."
You pouted.
"Dont ever make a joke about something serious like that again."
"Well, I didn't do it only to stop your hiccups. Now I found out you like Sasuke that much."
You felt yourself blushing furiously. You'd certainly fallen into Naruto's trap. How would you get out?
"I only like Sasuke as a friend!" You guaranteed him. "I'd be scared like that if it were you who got captured too."
"Uh huh," He replied in a sarcastic way. Well, you were defeated. Naruto knows you like Sasuke. That made you blush even more. Maybe Naruto has showed you how much you like him, and now you can't deny it.
"Just don't tell.." You whispered.
Naruto grinned really widely. "I knew it."
You shot him a glare. But he held out his pinky finger. You unwillingly and willingly at the same time locked your pinky finger with his.
"I promise not to tell," Naruto became more serious now, "As a friend."
"How do I know you're not acting?"
"I know what it's like to have sworn secrets told. Trust me."
Well, even if the pinky promise thing was kind of old, you believed in Naruto. You muttered a thanks to him. Now that he knew, it was very awkward. Even Sakura didn't know. Then came a knock at the door.
"Who is it?!" Naruto yelled.
"Sakura." You heard a muffled voice from the other side of the door. Naruto got up to open it. You were still sitting on the bed, knees up to your chest, looking worried.
"What's going on?" She asked.
You darted Naruto looks as if warning him to not tell. But to you, it seems he was just ignoring you. Either that or he was pretending like nothing happened. You guessed that wasn't so bad.
"Well.. I came because I didn't find you in our room. So here you are." She said, "Oh, and I saw Sasuke on his way here. He was picking up some brunch from the same place Taku and I went to. I think he'll be here any second."
You darted Naruto glances again. He acted like nothing was happening. So far he was doing good in keeping his promise. He lounged on Sasuke's bed while you and Sakura rested on Naruto's.
"Geez, why are you guys so quiet?" Sakura wondered. She looked at you, "You know, I really think you and Sasuke--"
"I don't like him." You lied, but said firmly. What do you feel about all this lying?

MAD. I'm going to pull out all my hair. (me: You do that. Sasuke doesn't like bald girls.)
Maybe I should just tell Sakura too..
"You do like him!" Sakura shrieked, "C'mon. I'm like your best friend now. I know when it happens. And I've been there.. Liking Sasuke, I mean. You can tell me anything. Naruto, get out of the room for a sec."
You and Naruto exchanged glances.
"Naruto already knows," You confessed.
"Knows what?"
Naruto looked kind of surprised, but pleased.
"That I..." You were blushing madly again. "I like Sasuke." You spat hastily.
Though you sat stiffly, surprised at what had just happened the past hour, Sakura jumped around happily. Naruto and Sakura kept bragging about how they "knew it". They were soon arguing as to who knew it first. Was I really that obvious? You sighed. It was then when the door opened where you found Sasuke holding some plastic bags of food. Naruto and Sakura stopped arguing and looked directly at Sasuke. You looked at him too, and blushed a little. Sakura and Naruto smiled.
"Hiiiii Sasuke!" Sakura asked, acting very giddyly. You felt like you were going to pass out. What had you done? Sasuke raised an eyebrow at everyone's weird behavior. Naruto and Sakura had very stiff smiles, as if they were wearing botox. Soon all the weirdness narrowed down and everyone acted like nothing happened. It turns out Sasuke had bought you a little brunch. The four of you sat down to eat a good meal, although Sakura just sat and talked with you since she'd already eaten. Even if things have gotten more awkward, knowing the fact that some people know about your little crush, you felt proud. This was because neither Naruto nor Sakura told their little secret, and you were greatful to have such great friends. If Sasuke was going to find out, you'd want him to hear it from you and not anyone else.
The end. Phew, you should be glad you let your feelings out.
They better not tell!!

Well.. I'm glad Naruto was lying.. weren't you? So.. Naruto and Sakura know your little secret. Hopefully they won't spill it or do something else bothersome. What if they start playing matchmaker? Ooh, that'll be fun. But maybe later. Just like you did, Sasuke is probably denying the fact that he likes you. Who knows. Well thanks for taking this quiz.
