1. Before I begin a novel, I...

Begin a plotting grid, guide or circle, complete character sheets/interviews, or write a detailed synopsis of at least 12 pages. Wait until the story strikes me, usually with a flash of inspiration, and then I type it. Dreams and good movies also help jump A little of both, I might write a chapter or two from inspiration, and then flesh out a synopsis. I don't know. I haven't started one yet.

A little bit every day, or close to it. I write in spurts, maybe 30 pages in one weekend, and 5 the next. I try to write at least twice a week, and I revise as I go. I don't know. I volunteered for too many PTA committees and I started a book club, and a website for writers, and I joined twen

3. I'm usually working on...

One novel at a time. Period. There's only so much space for my plot arc charts and graphs. Several novels at a time--sometimes I'm bored/stalled/stuck on the one I started when a new idea grabs me. Usually one, but I keep a file for other good story ideas as they come to me. Well, I helped my kid with his book report, does that count?

4. I'm most comfortable writing in...

Just one subgenre. Its my favorite thing to read AND write! multiple genres. Hey, I spread the wealth of my talent! Two sub genres that are closely related. What is a sub genre?

5. My writing space looks like...

A nice, organized office, complete with decor, music, candles/incense, magazine clippings of character photos, and inspirational Wherever my butt happens to be parked at the moment. Could be my untidy, cluttered computer center, at my kids soccer game benc I tend to go to the same location frequently--both in my own home or outside of it. Its my special writing spot. Writing space?! I'm supposed to have a writing space?!

6. When I am in revision stage, I...

Check mainly for grammatical errors. I have a pretty clean first draft because I plotted extensively. End up trashing whole passages of rambling prose and head hopping POVs. Spell check is my savior. So is Edit/Find/Replace, bec Mostly do layering--I revise for grammatical/spelling errors as I write the first draft. You mean I was supposed to go over my manucript BEFORE shipping it to that editor/agent? I thought that's what copy editors are
