[Another one that I wrote about a year ago]
I don't know what made me write this. I was outside earlier looking at the sunset and it just kind of came to me.
There isn't really any point to it. I don't know if it's any good. I don't really care. I just felt like posting it to see what you guys would think. :]
Her mom had said there must have been a beautiful sunset outside for the windows had a nice shade of red to them. She stopped her work on the computer and got up to go outside. She loved sunsets. It was the best part of nature. A sign that the day was over and it was time for night. A time when nocturnal beings start poking their heads out and going about their nightly business. Not knowing what took place during the day. Once outside she saw a wonderful shade of orange across the sky. It lit it up with the prettiest of colors. It was a nice winter afternoon. A bit chilly, but nice. The wind was blowing and rustling through the leaves. Glancing over she saw a perfect picture. It was not the sunset, but the big oak tree in the front yard and the bench and swing sitting beside it. The swing was moving in the breeze leaves moving all around. They were flying. They had no destination, no purpose. The wind picked them up and carried them through the air and across the yard. When the wind stopped the leaves took refuge amoung the dead brown grass. Lying there. Once again they had no destination, no purpose. Lying there waiting. Waiting for the wind to once again pick them up and take them on their everlasting journey. A journey with no rules or guidelines. One where they relied completely on nature. A journey that only ended with time when they would crumble and return to the earth once more. A happy ending for some. They had no life therefore they had no room for regrets. All they did was spark ones curiosity about where they had come from and where they may land. Where they might take their final journey and how it may end.
