However,her attitude may have changed when Mrs.Nikkola showed her an article by former US President Grover Cleveland."Just look,"Mrs.Nikkola said,pointing to an underlined section.Mr.Cleveland says"sensible and responsible women do not want to vote,and men hold political power because it is all a part of God's design."
Mother's lips got tight,and she said that maybe Miss Pankhurst had the right idea after all.
Mrs.Nikkola invited Mother to the next suffragette meeting.
