I sit on a log and look at the sky,
The sun warms my face and I ask the trees why,
'Why do I feel so at peace here with you?
You make me forget all that I need to do.'
Someone's kind fingers run through my hair
I turn to see who, but nobody's there.
I stand and I ask them to please reappear
He does, but he's frozen, as if in fear.
Suddenly he moves forward, and raises his hand
'I am the reason you can't leave this land.
Take my hand, come home with me.
You'll like it, I'm sure, there's plenty to see.'
I do as he asks, lost in his eyes
they're green as oak leaves.
I don't think he'd lie.
At the end of our journey,
he gave me a choice,
to stay or to leave.
My heart rejoiced.
'I want to stay with you.' I said.
A smile crossed his face.
'I'm glad I found you.'
so was I.
