You were here not too long ago,
Dreaming for a better tomorrow.
But one tradegic moment held you back
Destroying everything that was in it's track.
That moment, I will never live down,
For no one could reason the solution that was found.
Drunken while driving, or just plain out of mind.
The driver was gone - he couldn't read the sign.
For a split second, we were laughing and such.
It had turned for the worse and our lives were crushed.
Now, when I dream, I dream of you.
You wake up in that bed and you're ready to move.
Nothing seems wrong, there's no pain and no tears
We get up, get out, and everyone cheers.
But for some reason, when we reach that door
Everything spins and you hit the floor.
Screaming for help, the doctors run,
And we end up back where we've begun.
I can't explain what happens now,
I'm crying, I'm dying but still, somehow;
I wake up and run to your side,
But now that you're gone, I've got nowhere to hide.
I relive this dream now, again and again.
It's better, I guess, than the night it began.
It's different here, now that you're gone,
But I wait; I know it's not for too long.
Because I see you every once and a while,
You're still the same, like a little child.
You walk down the hall, that one we used to walk
You smile and wave, continueing to talk.
You speak of a place where you go to dream
And everyone there is as nice as they seem.
"Some day," you say, "you'll see what I see,
But for now, be all you can be".
I miss you, budd. You're what keeps me going,
I want to make you proud and that's all I'm showing.
Because sadness was something that you disliked a lot
So I'm going to show you that it's something I've fought.
I just wanted to tell you, I love you, and I'm doing okay.
I miss you so much, but I'll see you... Some day.
Some Day
