My Game Was Written
I drew mygame in charcoal
and I wrote my fate in blood.
I sat by laughing gratefully,
As my foes fell in the mud.
My game was going great, you see,
My plans were followed fine.
Until I wasn't looking,
And youcreeped right past the line.
I never noticed till a time.
That time was far too late.
You've lightly slashed rigtht through my game,
And wrote another fate.
I never planned this by my hand,
Never wished for such in mind.
But every conspirator can think real fast,
And kill soon what they find.
I thrust my dagger through the air,
It froze right in its place.
Twas not stopped by my mortal hand
But by another far more ace.
Stop this nonsense, I heard God say,
Your playing this so wrong.
I told My Lord I didn't care,
I've been playing far too long.
I went to try and stab again,
But my dagger disappeared.
I find that you are all I want,
Yet everything I've feared.
I take my charcoal, spill my blood,
And I write another game.
I notice now no matter what,
My cards will never be the same.
and I wrote my fate in blood.
I sat by laughing gratefully,
As my foes fell in the mud.
My game was going great, you see,
My plans were followed fine.
Until I wasn't looking,
And youcreeped right past the line.
