The Banished
I glance at you, you stare at me,
You challenge all I wish to be.
I glare at you, you laugh at me,
You, I wish I didn’t see.
I’m forced to live, yet I want you dead,
The most futile thing ever said.
You grin at this, a grin I dread,
worse than any in its stead.
I banish you, but you can’t leave,
a fact of which you will not grieve.
Your presence is a load I cannot heave,
But I wear this upon my sleeve :
Someday you’ll fall into a hole,
As abyssmal as the darkest coal,
Someday you’ll pay a fatal toll,
You’ll give back all that you had stole.
Hearing this, you laugh once more,
The sound alone, can pierce my core.
You laugh so hard, your lungs grow sore,
Your awful laugh becomes a roar.
I brace for impact, but there’s no need,
You won’t attack, not until you feed
the very soul of which you lead,
A soul in turmoil, never freed.
You are a being of darkness, which I hate,
I’d stop you now but it’s far too late.
You’ve penetrated my cold steel gate,
I know now what is my fate.
I’m not innocent, not at all,
for I am the reason for your fall.
With this sword, i will not stall,
Killing myself, I end it all.
For I am you and you are me,
now I realize my fatal fee.
I cannot live while you’re free
but while you’re here, I’ll never be.
You challenge all I wish to be.
I glare at you, you laugh at me,
You, I wish I didn’t see.
I’m forced to live, yet I want you dead,
The most futile thing ever said.
