Build this body
Make it whole
Give it life
Breathe its soul.
Read their life plan
Recite it through and through
Hope they’ll agree
To finally be born.
The child agrees
And you send it forth
They faintly remember
But just enough
The life you just told.
The fluid is warm
Like God said it would be
You feel her heartbeat
Its music to your ears.
A man is holding you
There’s commotion all around
Cold air hits your nose
You take your first breath.
You start your life
God said you’ll return
Life down here will be hard
But you’re supposed to get through.
Free will sets in
Through the hardest of times
You see the gun on the table
And the room becomes black.
The child lived and died
It didn’t remember God’s advice
A life has been wasted
So many dreams it could’ve tasted.
An empty seat in heaven
A family left to mourn
The child’s soul is lost
And never to return.
