Why Can't Can't Be Won't
Rejection...Why can't can't be Won't?
You reject me,
Oh the ache that afflicts my heart,
And why can't you say it to me?
Not "I can't go out with you",
But "I won't go out with you".
You would be a much nicer person
If you were honest,
And say it to me,
For the Truth hurts less,
Than a blatant strike at my conscience,
Trying all manner of trickery,
You kill me deep inside,
All that time I pondered how,
And all that time wasted,
And,
In the end,
When I walk away from you,
Disgusted,
REJECTED,
I ask myself,
Why Can't Can't Be Won't?
You reject me,
Oh the ache that afflicts my heart,
And why can't you say it to me?
Not "I can't go out with you",
But "I won't go out with you".
You would be a much nicer person
If you were honest,
And say it to me,
For the Truth hurts less,
Than a blatant strike at my conscience,
Trying all manner of trickery,
You kill me deep inside,
All that time I pondered how,
And all that time wasted,
And,
In the end,
When I walk away from you,
Disgusted,
REJECTED,
I ask myself,
Why Can't Can't Be Won't?
