The wounds escape the Sands of Time.
The Sands shall turn the heart to stone,
Awakes the darkness, inward sown.
And yet that stone in time shall break,
And in the stone, foundations shake.
Yet when the quake in Stoneheart's done
The darkness grown is overrun.
Replaced by naught, the darkness is,
And heart feels only emptiness.
And heart still feels the wounds of life,
And breaks again by loss and strife.
And so the cycle knows no end,
Until the broken finds a friend,
Who reads the brokenhearted's book,
And knows how forceful heart-quake shook.
And when the calm hath gone away,
The shiv'ring heart shall wander 'stray,
And find again its shattered home,
And once again is darkness known.
Another soul then comes along,
While singing heartfelt, healing song,
And puts together heart-of-stone,
Until the light of healing's sown.
And so the darkness melts away,
As love and hope have come to stay,
And so doth cease the desperate cry,
As darkness leaves and love is nigh.
Until that love comes, know I'll not,
What living is, but hopes distraught,
Until sings you that healing hymn,
My life shall be not glee, but grim.
If only you would come to stay,
And force the darkness far away,
I might come back, be saved still yet,
If in the end my love beget.
And so you have, into my heart,
brought with you but one lone thought
to heal my heart and give me yours,
and into you my love now pours
Heart now thanks Love's heartfelt care,
Which brought him out of deadly snare,
Into the light, the heart 'twas raised,
Now in Love's pasture, Stoneheart graze.
And so the crack in Stoneheart mends,
And now the heart's no longer stone,
For to it, Love was fin'ly shown.
