Autumn Rain
Just a description of how it looks outside right now. It's not that great, but I'm not really trying to write a champion poem, here. Just writing for the sake of it.Wraiths of misty clouds wrap around the mountains...
Blotting out the muted colors of fall.
Every now and then a sprinkle of rain patters against the window...
Blurring everything outside into a water-color painting.
Across the street horses graze, every now and then leaping into an excited frenzy...
Wild at heart, aroused by the occasional but rare peal of thunder.
A tree stands in solitude, a black hand against the cool grey sky.
A bird perches on a lamp post, watching the cars pass, sprays of water flying in their wake.
On the tree, more birds alight, little black dots against the white of the clouds.
The mist curls and settles on the valley.
Trees that still have leaves cluster dark and green across the field in which the horses stand...
Damp and sodden from the intermittent downpour of heavy rain.
The clouds tear apart, always moving and hovering close to the ground...
And Autumn Rain takes it's place over the Earth.
