Rat in a Cage
The creak of the swing was the only tune to hum
She could only wish to be a bird, and fly away.
But she was just a lonely rat in a damned cage,
Living a sorrowful life, day after hellful day.
It wasnt like the freedom she was promised,
They never keep their promises, raise your voice.
She could only hope to speak one word in,
But it wasnt as though it was her choice.
The clang of the chains were the only whispers,
The only mumbles ever heard in her cage.
She was merely a rat, a lonesome child
Only feeling the harsh sadness and rage.
Keep your word, my words are shortly lived.
They cant exist longer than the only surprise
Of her dangerous engagement arising,
But it goes ignored through her silent cries.
The gaze at the clouds above her was jealousy.
Ever so angered to be locked up, shut out.
Her only friends were the chains and the swings,
Back and forth, the voices would shout.
So miserable, alone, she was misunderstood.
There was no question, just turn one more page.
For no matter in which way one would look
She was merely a child, a rat in a cage.
