Okay, there was a boy
About 14
Brown hair, blue eyes
Tall and tan
Had a face any girl would oogle over for hours
But this boy had a problem
His problem was called cancer
They found it when he was 12
But still… it wasn’t gone
His family was religious
They believed God would held them through it
One day the boy got sick in class
He felt major stomach cramps
They rushed him to the hospital
Mom and dad stayed by his side for tow days
They prayed and prayed
They asked him to please be okay
On the third day
His sister came
His sister was a cute girl
Brown ringlets of hair hung down to the middle of her back
Her eyes a crystal blue
She had a face all the boys wanted to call theirs
She was 12
She and he were very close
Best friends to say the least
She was heartbroken to not have her brother home
When she saw him in the hospital bed
She didn’t fall to the floor in tears
She was a tough girl
Having all boy cousins did that to you
She walked over to him
And asked her parents to leave the room
They did as said without a word
She gently put her hand on his cheek
She leaned down to his ear and began to whisper
“mom and dad need you
This isn’t your time
Your tie will come
But it will not come today
God is wonderful
He knows this isn’t your time
So you better wake up soon
Because I’m very lonely without you”
And a tear rolled down her cheek at the sight of his pale lifeless face
“there!
Look!
You made me cry!”
She said and threw herself down on his chest
Tears fell one by one onto his sheets
She didn’t make any noise
Just sat there and cried
There was a sharp intake of breath
She looked up to see her brother’s eyes open
She smiled
“don’t cry”
He told her as he stroked her hair
“angels weren’t meant to cry”
“you must still be delirious”
She decided
“I’m not an angel…
I’m your sister”
He shook his head
“my angel”
She was about to argue again
Before he continued
“I was so close to slipping away
But then you came
And I knew I had to hold on
At the sound of your crying
I woke
You saved me”
She couldn’t force the tears back now
They poured down her face
“don’t cry”
He pleaded
“my angel”
