The Darkness in the Light

Do you know what happens when you get closer to the light?
I do. And oh, how it's the prettiest sight
but do you know what else is there?
What the light must also share?
Think about what sounds right.
What happens when you get closer to the light?
The darkness it grows and grows
And you wouldn't even know
That is, until you turn around
When you finally get a clue and hear the sound
But when you turn around into the darkness you're swallowed
And you're left there to sit and wallow
But if you're lucky and someone loves and cares
They'll pick you and all the broken pieces like they were never there
