I guess it's about time
That we'd face the fact nobody's perfect.
That not everyone's going to welcome us with open arms.
And I guess it's inevitable
That we can't just sit around and wait
That we can't not do things for ourselves.
The world's not going to pause for us.
Now I know it's the truth
That some things are better left untouched
That some things are supposed to be confronted.
The world is going to be confusing at times.
It's just that the world is teaching us things
And we're taking it one day at a time
And we're making sure that we do everything in the best possible way
When it will just make us fall once more
And that's what we must learn
Before we can regain our balance
And stand atop our feet
Proud and defiant
And that's how it's meant to be.
