I’m tired of feeling like this
I want to be okay
I’m tired of bothering everyone
I want to fade away
To a place where I’m happy
And people want to see me
A place where they won’t lie
About really liking me
I want to make them happy
And I thought they’d notice
But no matter how hard I try…
I just don’t think it’s worth this
So I’ll say goodbye
And smile as I fade
So they won’t feel so guilty
About loving like they’re paid.
Why so guilty?
Wrote this in Amlit, when I was bored and lonely and tired and all those other lovely emotions that so frequently come with being excluded from a group of friends. In any case, note that this one is actually a POEM, not a lyric. Though I suppose it could work as a lyric. This is actually the first effort I've made to rhyme my poetry in a while.
