As the towers fell, you stood tall.
You rushed to help, sturdy and calm.
It was duty as normal, a problem to fix.
We didn't realize how many of you we would miss.
As screams and cries filled the air,
You rushed up the burning stairs.
As panicked crowds filled the streets,
You reasured them, loving and sweet.
As you rushed up to save lives,
We saw the determination in your eyes.
As mom's and dad's cell phones rang,
Trembling cries of fear sang.
You made our world keep going,
on the day the world stopped turning.
Seven years later, we're still here.
We will always remember and hold your spirit near.
We are proud to have had you serve us, our own saftey net.
We live and we learn, but we never forget.
