Gaia's Tale
Inspired by the musings of mastermind genius, James Lovelock.The world outside is full of unknown faces,
With blank expressions and plastic smiles.
And my heart inside is void of emotion;
It's drained of life I can feel it fade.
6 billion footsteps march upon my mind.
Trampling me down, and eroding me away.
My children keep defying - their world which I made.
Leaving me here dying - so hopelessly betrayed,
Oh they're so so numb, they cannot see -
That this fate they fear, has happened already.
It's far too late, and they will not change:
They'll just run away, and leave me in pain.
What they loved they'l then leave, and leave to decay:
They'll just throw it away, and never come back.
They'll confide and consume, convert their womb to a tomb,
Because they destroy and destruct whatever they touch.
And they'll vacate in a violet sunshine,
Who's parting will melt our world.
Once soulmates will be reduced to ashes,
Which the wind will just drift away -
Leaving us to decay in the soul-less remnants of their rage.
Please don't fade away Into the dawns of yesterday,
Just live here and stay,
And appreciate this world which I made.
With blank expressions and plastic smiles.
And my heart inside is void of emotion;
It's drained of life I can feel it fade.
6 billion footsteps march upon my mind.
Trampling me down, and eroding me away.
My children keep defying - their world which I made.
Leaving me here dying - so hopelessly betrayed,
