Trapped inside her mind
Hell writhing inside her
Her eternal struggle
Her fight for sanity
The bars across the windows
The padded walls which soften the blows
Screaming and echoing from every corner and hall
While she’s terrified in a corner curled into a ball
The doors open
The orderlies come in
Grabbing her by her jacket
Shoving pills in her face
She fights and struggles
Sedated
The needle leaves her skin
The drug is now coursing through her veins
Silently she crumples to the floor
Her eyes are staring blankly ahead at the stained wall
In her mind she’s running
Running away from her nightmare
Her madness
She recalls the night she was committed
Shed written on her walls and cut her wrists
Her parents burst in and try to help but she resists
In her mind she’s done nothing wrong
She can’t figure out why she’s been here for so long
When can she leave is unknown
But since she’s been here her desire for death has grown
Alone and silent she sits in waiting
Every day the shrinks come in and are excavating
Searching for a hint a clue a sign of what it is thats plaguing her
She resists the mental prodding and closes up tighter than ever
While the shrinks continue their never ending endeavor
They find nothing and stop there pursuit
They send her back to her room no better than when she left
Lying in her bed she gazes out her window
She thinks “Why, why couldn’t they let me die”
Cold and trapped she begins to cry
She’s stuck her between heaven and hell
Her purgatory, her immortal jail
