Sleepless

Lying in bed tonight, watching the shadows upon the ceiling creep silently along, ghosts of a troubled past. So many sleepless nights,a pained heart and restless mind chases all the dreams away, Tissubg abd turning trying everything that I can to keep me from thinking of you. For I love you so dearly, but you don't share the same love I share for you. We tried once, to have it all shatter. Tried again wihout prevail. A thired time and the past seems to repeat once more. Hearing you found another and that you could no longer love me, well that just killed me. Four lines sketched into my skin forever each one just a bit deeper, each getting a hair longer; just showing how much my pain is also growing. Then came a prayer answered to help me recover, to have all the pains just be rediscovered. For the one who answered my prayer I thought had come from above, my angel, my sweetest savior. But really you see he was a demon in disquise. Brusies where my skin once layed pale, now discolored in wicked shades of. Was his crushing words not enough? That he physically had to make it show? Do I disgust him that much? I wimper in as I slowly rub the fresh wounds carved into my skin. Tears filling my eyes I beg, I plead for you to come back to me. Be my real angel sent from above. Protect me from myself, and send the creature that wishes to harm me back to the firey caverns below. Please come back so we may give it another try. So I may feel you precious heartbeat once again, feel your tender lips on mine, just to be held and protected in your stong arms. But alas this is only a dream. For you have no wish, no desire to come back to me. So may your dreams be sweet as you dream of the one you love. For I will be here watching the ghosts creep on by, for I shall not dream tonight, as my pained heart and restless mind keeps my dreams in hiding.
