"Stop clowning around!"
Well stop yelling at me!
I'm just having some fun.
Why can't you let me be?
I need to clown around.
To keep my mind from racing.
I pretend to be foolish.
To prevent myself from aching.
I don't want to have to think!
It hurts me way too deep.
So when I tell a joke,
My mind can't make a peep.
"Stop clowning around!"
Tell me, I'm curious.
The more I act childish,
The more you get furious?
Oh, it's wonderful!
The way you get so mad.
You act as if I'm stabbing you.
It can't really be that bad.
You're not going to laugh.
That is just a hunch.
I only say this because
you act like you just got punched.
"Stop clowning around!"
But can you not see?
That kid right there is laughing so hard
I think he just might pee.
The audience is hysterical.
They just wont calm down.
All this happiness and laughter
Because I'm acting like a clown.
Their faces are turning purple.
I'm even beginning to laugh.
All is well when I clown around.
I even enjoy the aftermath.
