A Sinner Like Me
Don't hate, I have my opinion, you have yours. Written July 18th, 2008.I sit listening to the religious station
But I don't realized what it is
At first
And I'm enjoying it.
WO-AH, WOA-OH.
I wish I could sing
For I'd write a song,
Or, perhaps, I'd just sing a poem.
"Oh, Jesus,"
Sings the radio.
I flip the station.
It's a nice song,
But I can't ignore the words.
This dramaticized version of things
Makes me roll my eyes,
And I don't enjoy the feeling.
Five more blurry stations away
There is another Christian station,
Except there is a man talking about devotion.
I listen until I can't stand it anymore.
"God" is different for every person.
There are no rules.
Why would anyone brainwash themselves so?
It's all an act,
And the ring leaders know it,
Or are they brainwashed as well?
It's all about control of the masses,
Intimidation of the masses,
And ruling the world with fear
Because a few men think it
Should be so.
Silly, silly, silly.
I have nothing against religion,
But just don't try to throw it on
A sinner
Like me.
But I don't realized what it is
At first
And I'm enjoying it.
