The sea of people filled the floor
I think to myself
"Should I head to the door?"
As I watch the masquerade
I feel an urge for my blade
Why would they want to hide
The true emotions they have inside
Behind ablue or green paper face
Dresses of silk, satin and elegant lace
Why am I such a disgrace
They hide and go in disguise
This is me everyday of my life
Hiding behind a mask
Not one thats blue or green
One that makes me look real
A mask that makes me look like I feel
Happy, or just normal and carefree
Like all the other boys and girls
Oh I wish my life were just a masquerarde
Faux emotions on parade
When I can take off the mask whenever I'd like
Revealing myself for the sun to shine on
But if I take off this mask
There's no me I'm gone
I feel naked unclothed, nothing to wear
I'm lost in a labryinth of deep despair
The night is dark I can't tell if I'm there
I touch my chest and feel the thump
A beat of my heart
"Did my soul just jump?"
What's this new feeling I've never felt before
A new feeling I cherish, love and adore
This strange new splendor leaves me wanting more
But still I will leave through the dark corridor
Outside the party I go and explore
I start to dance in the luminous moonlight
I have such peace and comfort in it
I will never catch a fright
"So this is how it feels to take off my mask?"
Peaceful but alone in the moonlight I bask

It brings me back when I first put the mask on
But those days are over
But these scars on my wrist will never fade
