Scattered Memories
Searching through the memories scattered on the floor
She searches for something she can't find anymore
She said, "It can't be in the closet. Only regrets are stashed there."
I tell her to go out and buy it
But she says it can't be replaced, swearing it's hiding here
I tried to help her in her search for the thing she cannot find
When I ask her what she's looking for
She says, "I've lost my mind. I've lost myself in things I've left behind."
As I sit there on the floor, the memories stare back at me
I realize that each glossy photo is of who I used to be
I look up to find the frantic girl, but see that she is gone
The only person here was me with these scattered memories all along
