The corridor is long
The walls are dark
I cannot see the floor or ceiling
There are people on the side
Faceless, yet staring
They see me, although they have no eyes
They speak although they have no mouth
I walk on with my eyes closed
Not daring to look up or down
Not wanting to see the faceless leering
I know these people
They are my friends
I can see the end now
My friends are leaving
I am all alone now
I can see a light
And they are there
All of them
They are smiling
And hugging
And crying
And laughing
They welcome me
They've waited so long
They whisper in my ear
"Thank you for dying"
