you, a quiet nonexistance, sitting

she can feel your warm hospitality

thumbprints against her brain, haunting her, haunting.

the dreams she sees for two restless hours in the morning
are all of you, pressing your lips
to her sun-glowing chestnut red highlights
gold against the white of her dress.
she won't tell me if they're happy or not.

sarah paused slightly, then asked, "what?"
i'm not at all sure how it works, mesmerizing captivation
with 2s, hearts, glitter and loveseats
she looks at me, both seeing and registering,
"maybe you don't understand." but i do see one thing.

i sort of had the daydream of this on a loveseat. of course, sarah is a pretty pretty name. means princess/forbidden. i think that this poem captures a sort of wistful picture of sarah being treated like a princess, yet its forbidden. i like this.Did you like this poem? Write one of your own!
