Crying Times
Life so hectic, rat race for men
Days linger on and nights flitter away
Precious time squandered
As we all forget about today
Dads working, no matter their job
Moms joining in the daily grind
Children growing with the passage of time
Families lost in this torturous bind
Trying times encompass us all
For the rat race is beckoning
Tired bodies, aching minds
Lonely souls, lost in the crying times.
We hurry and rush
Certain there is no better way
All of us chasing a dream
And miss the splendors of this day
We ask who are the victims
As we take no time for rest
As we stay focused on our goal
Which is fleeting at best
As time ticks past
We look at the empty hourglass
Our hearts hollow and alone
Longing for the past
Families faded
Dreams sublime
All fallen at the feet
Of the crying times
