The bloody tears
fall and splatter
to their death.
Darkness reaches from
every corner
grasping for the light
to kill it.
Shadows loom
over the puddle of blood
and a rose lay
where beauty and danger
come together
at the edge of the shadows,
at the edge of life.
The girl struggled.
