Anymore...
This poem is considered very optimistic compared to my other works. It's very personal, that's why I love it. I also love feedback.Time
Has turned her back on me
Left me by the shore to weep
Forged hope and set it free
Able to roam inside me
And life
It stowed
These thoughts into my brain
Telling me I’m not insane
That it’s ok
It’s just a phase
I’m not fine
Not alright
Flames dance before my eyes
Ridding me of my disguise
Plonking me upon the sands
Of the shores of some foreign land
Abandon me to the unlikely mercy
Of whatever may find me
Fearful I won’t leave a trace behind
To prove that I did not just lie
And wait for the dust to gather around me
Then time
She told me
“You mustn’t work slowly”
“Aren’t you aware that you haven’t much of me?”
“You must thrive…”
“To track footprints in the ground before I leave and take you with me”
I could not bear the strain
Felt as though I was about to suffocate
It brought too much pain
So I edged from under the building
That’s been pressing me to the ground
Felt the icy winds sting my nose
It was then that I finally found
My destiny, it was set
As I let loose my hair
I realized that it was that that I did not wish to dread
