Welcoming Skies
On death and faith. PLEAZE R&R!!!Deep breath, deep breath
Hold it inside
Feel it shake your bones
Rattle, rattle
Shudder every nerve
How long will it last this time?
Beads of sweat start to appear
On your heaving chest
Contract every aching muscle
Make you feel lighter
Slowly, slowly
It comes to an end…
Lagging, creeping
Hear the throbbing grow fainter
Your heart beats are numbered
Notice, feel
The boiling blood coursing through your veins…
Finally, you realize
As the last few wisps of air
Manage to enter
With the last quivering breath
You call out with a breaking voice,
With a sound as thin as your twanging heartstrings
“This time, it will be gentle”
Close your serene eyes
Slip away…
Then soar into the welcoming skies
Hold it inside
Feel it shake your bones
Rattle, rattle
Shudder every nerve
How long will it last this time?
Beads of sweat start to appear
On your heaving chest
Contract every aching muscle
Make you feel lighter
Slowly, slowly
It comes to an end…
Lagging, creeping
Hear the throbbing grow fainter
Your heart beats are numbered
Notice, feel
The boiling blood coursing through your veins…
Finally, you realize
As the last few wisps of air
Manage to enter
With the last quivering breath
You call out with a breaking voice,
With a sound as thin as your twanging heartstrings
“This time, it will be gentle”
Close your serene eyes
Slip away…
Then soar into the welcoming skies
