Just Seventeen

This poem is written with the Columbine High School Massacre in mind, the second half directed to Dylan Kelbold and Eric Harris. Inspired by the tragic killing and the song "Cassie" by Flyleaf. PLEAZE R&R, but do it respectfully.

Relief, I knew it was time
Feel the coolness of the bullet
Piercing my thoughts
I could hear them calling,
“It is your fate, set in stone”
“Yes”
No doubt about it,
“Yes”
I knew it was Him that made me real
Believe…
What is, and what could be…
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Polluted,
Please don’t come near me
Full of hatred,
You’re His, can’t you see?
Why so deluded?
Open your mind and dream…
So brutal,
And just seventeen
