Never Leave
I hear the whispers
In the night
They break off
As the birds take flight
As someone screams
Somewhere so near
I hope far away
For me I fear
I hear footsteps
And I scream
I wake up
It was only a dream
But then I hear
A noise at the window
The glass is shaking
I see the rocks you throw
I look outside
And you climb up
The tree
And then you jump
Through the window
And you ask me
"Are you okay?
I heard you scream."
I say I'm fine
But you don't believe me
"I want to know.
Why did you scream?"
"You can tell me.
I won't bite."
So, I tell you what's been happening
You never leave that night
You pick me up into your arms
I feel safe forever
And you say you'll never leave
Never leave, no never
In the night
They break off
As the birds take flight
As someone screams
Somewhere so near
I hope far away
For me I fear
I hear footsteps
And I scream
I wake up
It was only a dream
But then I hear
A noise at the window
The glass is shaking
I see the rocks you throw
I look outside
And you climb up
The tree
And then you jump
Through the window
And you ask me
"Are you okay?
I heard you scream."
I say I'm fine
But you don't believe me
"I want to know.
Why did you scream?"
"You can tell me.
I won't bite."
So, I tell you what's been happening
You never leave that night
You pick me up into your arms
I feel safe forever
And you say you'll never leave
Never leave, no never
