The girl was apprehensive about dating the boy.
For her heart had been broken many times before.
He promised he would never be like the ones in her past.
She was convinces in her heart that she would feel heartache no more.
She though he was different.
He promised he would never lie.
Like always she was wrong,
and just like the others he made her cry.
He swore he was not the same,
as all of the bastards in her past.
She took down her guard with his words,
and in turn fell hard and fast.
A promise is a sacred vow,
as some people say.
He promised he would never be like them,
and would never lead her heart astray.
After their first fight,
over a lie that he had told,
she should have ended it then,
so she wouldn't feel broken and cold.
Her once loving heart,
now holds only ice and despair,
and the most hurtful part is,
that he doesn't even care.
Why, you might ask,
her love he did not return?
The answer is simple,
it was for her best friend he did yearn.
She knew in her heart all along,
she tried to disregard every sign,
she tried to ignore it,
and she tried to pretend everything was fine.
She wanted to hate him,
but try as she may,
there was nothing she could do
to make her love go away.
He is worse than the rest,
but in a different way.
He took her whole heart,
and one day he will pay.
The girl has a friend who she loves dearly,
even she has been subjected to her wrath.
Karma is her friend's name,
and the broken hearted girl's ex has stepped in her path.
