A costume parade
of undisguised people
(who won't let you know
(why they won't show
(you what they look like)
inside.
Every day, I
{join that parade}
of impassionate faces
impassionate people
impassionate
friends
(a death march)
Wearing a smile
to show to the crowd
(They eat up my lies like the oatmeal they ate for breakfast)
I'll wear my
:( smile,
so that you can see
how wonderfully happy it is to be me!
My life is so perfect! I'd love to share it,
(But if you knew the truth I don't think I could bear it)
So look, here it is!
My beatiful mask,
all painted and pretty,
and up to the task
of-
(after all, what could so effectively, slowly, and brutally suffocate my soul?)
-killing me
