It Must Have Been Fate

This is an original sonnet that I wrote in my Freshman Year of highschool. I am really proud of this poem, yet I don't exactly know where I got the inspiration from. It may have been from a song called Concrete Angel by Martina McBride, but this poem has a different message, yet a similar flow, in my mind at least. Please do not copy or steal this, I worked hard on this.

In a small town, where peace laid everywhere,

One girl disturbs what had always presided.

She cries and weeps in hopeless despair,

The rest is silence, where she resided.

--------------

Only one was there to comfort her woes,

Yet he was the one who caused her sorrow.

He arrived, and from her spot, she arose.

Confronted him, and said that he would be gone by tomorrow.

--------------

He did not go, for that she was full of hate.

She swore her revenge and that she committed,

He was killed the next day; it must have been fate.

After this, what was to come she dreaded.

--------------

They took her away, what happened is not steadfast.

What was known ’bout her is now a memory past.
