Trembling hands fumble for the lock,
unsteady legs crumble to the floor,
shaking fingers search out steel,
I lean against the door.
My mind races,
my heart races,
I hear their words,
and see their faces.
Silver carves,
a shallow line,
crimson seeps to the surface
Porcelain contrasts against the blood,
a backdrop akin to my mind:
numb, shocked, absent, cold
