There’s a girl that I once knew
Somebody with a life that seemed so ideal
It was so much more that it was untrue
Underneath the lies and the makeup she hid something real
At school she was somebody forged and perfect
Had it all but also many mistakes
She walked the halls like nothing was wreaked
Wore a smile though it was fake
Then at home she would change
Hide in her room cutting with a blade
Too scared if people thought she was strange
Wanting to end and stop the pain she prayed
Then when it was over the room faded black
She’d fall and hit the ground
This time she might never be coming back
She was lost in her world and could never be found
And then the next day she was back to the same old thing
Hiding her secret with laughs and smiles
Waiting to go back to her real life that would sting
Where she could escape for beyond miles
There’s a girl that I once knew
She convinced people she was fine and would pretend
That her life was something so true
Though she had finally come to an end
