Her Great Escape: Running Away
She keeps the positive attitude
Thinking things will always get better
"It can't get much worse,"
She tells herself hopefully
"Things have to get better"
Months have passed
It's the same day after day
"It can't get much worse,"
She tells herself hopefully,
"Things have to get better"
She kept on her bright smile
She laughed, She joked
Just as she normally would
After a few more weeks
She finally snaps
She doesn't want to smile
She doesn't want to pretend
She grabs her stuff
And throws it into a bag
She writes a farewell note
And throws open the window
She hesitates as she looked below
"Is this really what I want to do?"
Her parents begin yelling
And she makes her decision
She jumps out the window
And lands safely on the ground
She runs without looking back
Without any fears or regrets
Her heart leapt for joy
As she made her great escape
