Fly away from the broken world you portray

My legs are tired
Of trekking a path that should no longer exist,
A walk to change my life,
No more destruction of my present,
No more people to hide me away,
No more feeling sorry for the things I never gave,
No more dreams to lie hopeless at my feet,
Worrying I’m sure is just a game,
My mind working way to fast to able to portray everything I’ve seen,
And chase away the things I didn’t mean to dream,
A faded road I see in the picture I hold in my hands,
I walked it time and time again,
Knowing its twists and turns,
Because they have been engraved on my well worn hand,
I’m ready to destroy the picture,
Letting it fade away,
So I can spread my wings and fly,
Letting the old me behind the one with silent screams through shattered eyes,
Letting the new me gain control again,
Whoever that person may be,
I hope my mind will begin to see
Everything that I’ve missed
And the person I can be.
