I remember his eyes
Always so full of joy
Always sparkling
They glimmered so brilliantly
Beneath the flourescent light
I would stare into his eyes
Becoming lost within seas of blue perfection
It was as if he could see past
What I tried so hard to be
One glimpse into his eyes
Brings my entire world to peace
Oh the eyes unlike anything I've ever seen
I remember his smile
From afar he would glance
From afar I would notice
His teeth shone through the softness of his lips
One glimpse of that smile could weaken my knees
Could brighten my day
Could render me helpless
I remember his hands
Gently brushing mine from time to time
Oh, the touch that made me gasp
The spark that jumped from his to mine
Assure that this was meant to be
Return of the butterflies
With the touch of his skin
My heart would race with imagination
I remember his words
"It'll just take time."
The hope followed instantly
Knowing my endless joy was near
Day in, day out
My life was one subject
My day was one mood
I loved the all-round happiness
Hoped it'd never die
I remember the day
I couldn't believe the news
I had to hear from him
It couldn't be true
It couldn't be real
An act of strength
A burst of courage
A question with an answer better left unsaid
A tear escaped my heart
His choice had become clear
It was no longer I
I remember my life
The once so perfect life
A mere dream within a fog
A simple thought amongst the world
Never again could I feel the same
Never again will I remember
A smile across my lips
An ache within my heart
I try to forget
But I will always remember
I Remember...
